Headers have just arrived in Perth customs so I should see next couple of days.

KillerB has fixed them cheaply for me by adding the V3 cast collector to my existing header BUT not under warranty.

Tune too lean, resulting in too much heat is their reasoning.

They were factual about it and both sides presented their side to the story and worked out a resolution.

As I was running same AFR as my old Dom 1.5XTR setup I don't believe that was the primary reason.

Wrapping them and leaving the remnants of black ceramic coat too.....trapping too much heat I would say.

We will tune 11.1 next dyno as their recommendation as a precaution as we were a touch higher than that last session.

More positive things, found another small exhaust leak - dump to cat, so will sort that on reassembly.

On disassembly I found 2 of the head to header bolts not particularly tight as they are super hard to get onto, will sort on reassembly with my crows feet.

Have lightly sanded all MLS gaskets with 1200 then 2000 grit in preparation.

Will update once back together, pretty excited though.

Will need dyno tune before I lay into it but will be just great to be driving it again.

All back together, sounds much quieter due to care and attention over last 2 nights.

Seems to have survived the header blowout at full noise.

BUT

Cam seals are shot on drivers side head.

OR

Oil pump leaking.

Dripping oil from timing cover at idle after small drive to get fuel.

Will be contacting builder to work something out motor only done 7000kms

Not happy Jan.

The post about your headers makes me keen to just use acl heat shield w/ ss zip ties when I fit my used avo el headers to my spare engine.
Have you re-wrapped your KB's, or just sticking with the partial coating?

leaving the partial coating.

No more wrapping for me ever, I don't recommend it at all after this saga.

My leak seems to only be a cam seal that was damaged on install. But will get confirmation early next week.

Can not wait for next dyno session to stretch its legs safely at 11.1 AFRs

Forgot to post, leaking fluid is likely to be power steering fluid as inside of timing belt cover is dry.

could also be engine oil coming out of AVCS system somehow....may pop new gasket between the solenoid and the block if powersteering maintenance doesn't stop the drip.

This will learn me for taking car out for maiden voyage at night.

It is back driving and not leaking!!
It has been a messy pain in the ass issue but got there being systematic and getting good advice from local business owner.

Sooooo good to get out for a drive today and know its not about to catch fire!!

Can not wait for Matts May visit. 8)

Thanks.
Noticed it sounds totally different without the exhaust leaks too.
Quieter. Such a win for all the effort.
22psi only and getting it spooling earlier will be the targets at next dyno.

Still no time to get the dyno plot pic up...soon I promise!

241awkw with 11.0 afr at only 21psi, thanks Matt

Left it there so it wont crap out the auto.

2nd gear may have too many clutch packs and shock loads the box.
Feels awesome but you just know that kind of change will break something eventually!

Coming on earlier too and is quietest overall it has ever been.

Needs oil cooler, manual trans in and SD tune then flex fuel (coming soon for my manual ROM matt?)

May put old center pipe on it, kept EGTs down lower than the twin

Getting motivated again :D

Sooo I was having a real think about this car and the way it runs off boost and at cruise......like sh!t

Go to reading and thinking and after alexiwoody letting me know his kstech intake has no issues I formed a plan.

Cut up my Process West CAI!

After checking with Matt about tune impact, I got cutting and as you can see from the below now have a new intake setup on the car:

Early test drive was sooooo much smoother than previous, really looking forward to driving it this week now up the perth hills to visit clients :D
