You should see my plates, you can't read them at all if you're driving behind me with headlights on :D

There was a dude on RBT who got pulled over driving his bosses Lambo which had plate altering covers. Copped a pretty big fine!

Don't speed? or don't get caught?

It might just be his plates..

As has been discussed elsewhere on these forums, the new NSW plates are like that. My ones are silver text on a black background and when people are behind me at night it goes all one colour and you can't read the plates.

So not illegal, just poor design by the RTA

+1 Mine are black with white lettering, light from pretty much any direction renders them useless. Would be interested to see how they come out in a speed camera flash.

I saw grey on black the other night and you couldn't read it until you were parked behind at the lights.

I have black on metallic silver waiting to go on but haven't tested reflection. Could be hard to read at night.

I don't know if ACT plates are the same design as NSW but I have black on metallic silver (apparently :angry2: ) and yes, hard to read at night.

Lots of air - need to paint my callipers now (no money for big brakes) what do you think about red?

I don't know about red. My current brakes were red when I bought them, and they look very unimpressive because of the design. Maybe if they were 4/2 pots it might look ok. Tried matching the blue of the body to it?

PS - wheels :good:

Yeah I agree red will draw unwanted attention to the small brakes.

You think I could get some spray paint color matched to the car body? I think I have a small amount of touch up paint I could take to a shop. Is there anywhere in Melbourne that can do spray paint matching?

Autobarn or your local paint shop should do it...

Getting Hi temp paint would be the catch though?

If you must paint them, paint them black. Just make them look nice and clean. Ps, have a look at new STi wrx's to see how awesome black calipers look.
