I'm stealth as mate! Car is riding really well in the limited driving I've had. And no more check engine light ;)

Progress report.

Jspeed control arm bushes finally arrived today after 24 days from Sydney :angry2:

Car goes in next Wednesday to have the centre diff replaced, and the bushes and new tyres will be fitted soon after that.

Well, the car was in at http://sjautomotive.com.au/ today getting the centre diff replaced, and the old drive shaft put back in to replace the shitty Chinese one the local mechanic fitted. Also had them fix the drive shaft output seal on the gearbox that the shitty local mechanic pinched when he was putting in the shitty Chinese drive shaft (lots of lessons learned here).

Whilst under the car, the guys found that my gearbox mount was broken (rubber clean sheared off the metal plate) with the likely cause being the shitty local mechanic jacking up the engine /gearbox to make fitting the shitty Chinese drive shaft easier (not that it stopped him stuffing it up and pinching the seal). Some may remember me trying to diagnose a strange vibration in the vehicle a while back on the forums, and you guessed it, this was the cause. Luckily for me, Sean had an STI mount in stock and did me a really good deal on it, so that was that and I now have an STI gearbox mount, which has to be worth a few kW.... right?

Anyway, the car is driving great. I had almost forgotten how it used to drive without the vibration and clunky binding VCD. The car is once again a joy to drive.

Next step: New tyres and fit the JSpeed LCA bushes.

Picked up a nice little bargain last week, a Prova carbon fibre air intake. Just a stock replacement, but looks pretty awesome. Not usually into the dress-up bits that don't offer any performance or driveability increases, but this was too good a price to pass up! Will post a pic in the next couple of days.

In annoying wear-and-tear news, I think one of my rear wheel bearings is shot, so will be replacing that in the next week or so, and I still have to get my LCA bushes fitted yet! 9-5 work is a right pain in the arse sometimes

Had my PHAT LCA bushes (castor / anti-lift) fitted yesterday and wow, what an improvement. Turn-in is soooo good now, it's like night and day compared to the stock setup. NVH slightly higher, but that doesn't bother me. Feeling through the steering wheel is great too.

Also had a rear hub replaced (wheel bearing was shot badly, and they're not serviceable on Libertys). Lucky timing as we found that the loose bearing had meant the rear tyre was wearing hard on the inside. Here's a little surprise we found:

Lucky to catch it when I did I guess. Anyway, noisy bearing gone and it's a wonderful car to drive again.

Thanks to Karl (dropz) for the work.

Wow, haven't updated here in a while. Not much to report lately other than the KiDo tune. The results were fantastic, but it turns out my O2 sensors are borked, so I had to get Matt to pull the tune back a bit to allow for them dumping so much fuel in. New ones are in now and waiting to upload the good tune again! Have really been enjoying driving the car. The suspension is just fantastic and the added punch down low from the tune makes a massive difference, all I need next some wheels and wider rubber!

Picked up a few things recently that are getting fitted up on the weekend:

Cusco master cylinder stopper
Cobb Tuning adjustable short shift
Torque Solutions shifter bushes

Had the shifter upgrades fast-tracked after the old bushes gave way on the weekend, currently the selector feels like I'm stirring a pot of soup. 3rd and 4th gears are mysteries, you can't even feel the gates!

what does the 02 sensor actually do ?? does it have to do with fuel use at all ?
