The results were fantastic, but it turns out my O2 sensors are borked, so I had to get Matt to pull the tune back a bit to allow for them dumping so much fuel in. New ones are in now and waiting to upload the good tune again! Have really been enjoying driving the car. The suspension is just fantastic and the added punch down low from the tune makes a massive difference, all I need next some wheels and wider rubber!

Picked up a few things recently that are getting fitted up on the weekend:

Cusco master cylinder stopper
Cobb Tuning adjustable short shift
Torque Solutions shifter bushes

Had the shifter upgrades fast-tracked after the old bushes gave way on the weekend, currently the selector feels like I'm stirring a pot of soup. 3rd and 4th gears are mysteries, you can't even feel the gates!

what does the 02 sensor actually do ?? does it have to do with fuel use at all ?

The o2 sensor measures the amount of oxygen and unburnt fuel from the engine which allows the ecu to adjust the tuning slightly to give a better stoichiometric ratio (14.7:1) to give optimum performance and full combustion.

Wow, true to form, been a while between updates.

Had the Cobb short shifter and Torque Solutions bushes fitted as mentioned. The shift feels great, really positive and notchy. Nice reduction in throw length too. I also picked up a Cobb shift knob from the forums and fitted that up. Nicer look and feel than the STI delrin one that I had on previously.

In other news, I managed to score a bargain from ProSpeed Racing's Rota clearance sale, a set of 18x8.5 +44 Rota GForce in a horrible, shitty gold colour for the ridiculous price of $499. They arrived last week and are currently at the powder coaters getting de-uglied. Also grabbed some 50mm BLOX wheel nuts to set them off nicely. Here's the wheels, and the colour they're getting powder coated:

Next up is replacing the centre and Y-pipe with X-force replacements for a slightly louder sound, should be nice with the STI cans without being too loud. Following that.... brakes.

The colour is called Dulux Precious Steel Pearl in a satin finish. Same as the wheels on the silver wagon in my post above. They look quite dark on the silver, but it's actually a shade or two under gunmetal.

Yeah I can't wait to pick them up. Hoping to have them on by the weekend, but at the same time contemplating giving them to Hamish to OptiCoat before putting them on.

True to form I haven't updated in a while!

Got the wheels back from the powder coaters and am really happy with the colour and finish. Fitted them up a couple of weekends ago with the 215's stretched on and I love the look. Got away without guard rolling, but when these tyres are dead, I'll be going to 235's which will require me to roll them.

Took the '07 grille off and plastidipped the original pre-facelift grille, put that back on and love the Darth Vader look the front of the car now has. Also plastidipped the fog light surrounds to match.

Also finally got around to installing my Cusco brake stopper (no noticeable improvement yet, as brakes are in need of replacement) and the HKS intake resonator replacement trumpet. It's a simple bell-mouth inlet to the airbox that attaches where the resonator used to and picks up air from behind the foglight.

Lastly, I grabbed a second hand X-force centre pipe and y-pipe off the forums and had them installed last week. The sound is exactly what I was chasing, maybe only 10% louder on idle (but 25% or so on cold start which sounds really nice, but wouldn't want it all the time). On full throttle it's about 30-40% louder and has a really nice bark to it. No horrible NA boxer sound like an EJ25, just a beautiful raspy flat-plane crank sound. Very European.

Will put some pics up tonight or tomorrow.

Next up: Brake pad & rotor upgrade and maybe some braided lines.

Have to say I'm really happy with where the car is at now, and can't see myself doing a whole lot more unless maybe some well-priced second hand coilovers come up.

Well, the bug bit me again and I've done some more work. This time, I put a Google Nexus 7 Android tablet in the dash and connected it through the factory stereo. Really happy with the results.

See http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=21888 for details.

Fair point. I forgot I hadn't taken any pics with the new wheels on yet. Washed the car yesterday so would have been the perfect time, but of course it goes and rains on the way to work this morning! :angry2:

Bi-annual update time.

Silly woman backed into my rear bar a few weeks ago, so it goes into the shop after Christmas to get repaired. Looks to be just the bumper skin that took most of the damage, plus the tail light cracked in the process.

Brake upgrade. No Brembo silliness here, grabbed myself some Project Mu BSPEC pads, Goodridge lines (thanks cruisn) and nabbed some 5,000km old Dixcel SD rotors for the front. Should be a nice little stopper upgrade.

Ultrex front lip is now sufficiently warped and shit looking. Time to look for a replacement, but don't want to go Ultrex again really. Might see if those ebay ones from USA are still floating around.

Nothing else to report really, just enjoying driving the car.

Car is all fixed from the car park incident, and the shop did a really good job. Still on the hunt for a front lip, and am strongly considering biting the bullet and buying a genuine item.

In other news, I've ordered a Corazon grille. Always loved them and stoked I finally took the plunge.

Oh and I still haven't gotten around to fitting the brakes yet. Having a 5 week old child really chews up your time!
