Stainless will last longer, but mild steel will sound better as it has better sound deadening characteristics.

Unless you intend to keep your car for more than 7 years, dont waste your money on stainless.

If the mild steel is painted with hi temp exhaust paint (as yours is) you will have no issues.

Not all that funny as Simon does live near the sea....

I've had both mild steel and stainless. Mild steel is deeper whilst stainless can sound a bit raspy.

They both last longer than most people keep their cars. So no worries... Just enjoy it.

BTW that exhaust looks like a good quality build from the pics.

SH30RB wrote:Another update, i've made progress on my intake install and will be doing a write up in the 3.0/3.6 section this weekend.

but the part that got me most excited, my exhaust finally arrived :D

Image

Should hopefully be going on around the 10/11th due to the next two weekends being taken up
Best part, will probably only cost a case or two  a few mates of mine are going to help with the install,
A few of them are qualified mechanics and we have a fully kitted workshop on base with a hoist and all the tools needed for the job

(I think ill be saving alot of money in the near future :D)

Steel type aside. That exhaust is almost completely different to mine. But could just be the photo

Jake, if i recall you had a 2.5n/a system fitted to your car as Xforce didn't make one for the H6 when you got yours done ??

Anyway the centre & y-pipe look extactly like the ones I had fitted to mine and it bolted up perfectly. Mine is in stainless though.

I had this confirmed by xforce themselves, the y-pipe section is identical between the 2.5n/a & H6, what is different between the 2 systems is that the centre pipe.

Yeah agreed... However the muffler tips are different too. And without remembering exactly what my mufflers look like I believe they are different too
