I took the car for its first decent run last night up to my folks place in the Dandenongs.

Power was great through the first 4 gears, much better than i was expecting.
On the downside, the handling was terrible (from what i'm used to). The front washed out a lot under full power through a corner and the roll from the body was intense. I thought i'd be happy with some lowered springs, but it seems an ALK, strut brace and swaybars are on the cards.

However, it was still great fun and i'm rather happy with the purchase. A bit of exhaust noise wouldn't go astray!

check your lower arm bushes and also your alignment...... of course sway bars and lower bracing would be ideal

congrats on the purchase.

When i was looking for a GTB i had a list in my iPhone notes with like 6 things on it named "Modifications to the GTB". I now need to swipe down repeatedly to view the whole list

Ordered a wash mit, shampoo and towel........... for the car, a few days ago. Hopefully they show up before the weekend so i can clean it and take some snaps.

One things i've noticed about the car is the multitude of economy guages.... Satnav info screen has 3 avg fuel displays, then via in the dash info screen and who couldn't help but notice the VB Commodore econo guage on the cluster. I'd understand if it were a Prius or a diesel, but a 2.5lrt turbo. Why?

PS, i need a crash course in the satnav trip meters. That thing makes me feel like a moron

Good to see you finally made it something something dark side... It really would something something complete without another modded grey wagon around!

By the way... What happened to the RS? Cheers, Nick

Sorry had too... It was too tempting lol! Really? Nooooo! I still have one and it's at the pannel beater killing the rust which will also be for sale unfortunately due to cash flow lol.. If you part her out let me know! Congratulations in advance for the soon to be! Good to see you still stuck with the Liberty!

Awesome purchase - is this the car owned by the Brit who tuned it himself? Nice chap. Just too far over our budget alas... Keep us posted on your progress with sorting the suspension, etc.
