Anyway I'm Sam and I drive a Gen2 98 Liberty RX, I'm still on my L's (hopefully for only another few weeks, need to get my parking down).
This is my third car and hopefully my last till I get my opens.
First: 1994 VR Commodore (auto)
Second: 2001 AU Falcon 1tonne Ute (auto)
Third: Gen2 98 Liberty RX (Manual) (Current)
Anyway Heres some history of the car over the past couple of weeks that i've owned it.
So almost three weeks ago i spotted this car on carsales, $4500, 150,000klms and manual! So i talked to the guy and proceeded to purchase it.
It finally arrived a week latter (500klms in a week, i was angry, had to transport it due to not being able to drive it back on L's).
The bads:
Shifter seams a bit stiff, needs new grease
Wheels are worn and scuffed
Front bumper is held on by cable ties >.<
Occasionally wont start in gear, but the symptoms will be similar to flat battery.
Cracked center dash around head unit.
Rear drivers side speaker has snapped contact.
The exhaust has a leak up near the front and sounds like a fart.
Wood grain
Goods:
Everything else :p
So my plans are get it to a nice condition that im happy with, so.... (in no particular order)
Exhaust (make it meaty)
17" Wheels
Fix up the speaker
Cover the wood grain in carbon fiber vinyl
Cover it in P Plater stuff
Pic the day i got it.

Tuesday i went into town and got some stuff for the car. Walked into Super Cheap and headed strait for the P-plater section.
Bought,
Gearknob
Handbrake handle
Floor Matts
SAAS seats
Racing Pedals
Wheel nut multi bar thing
Took the baggage handler and filled it up. (my mothers car)

Got to work installing the Gearknob.

And then the floor matts.

Prepping to install the seats. Passenger first.

Now came the bad news.... The sales person told me they had the universal mount in the box... All there was in the box were the rails... So i have to either A: get mounts made up B: take them back C: keep them for the project car i will be buying with a mate in the next few months. (seats were $300 total) So im going to keep them for the project car. Town is almost 2 hours away from me. I called SAAS and they dont make a bracket to suit the LIB.

The Handbrake handle wont fit because of the shape of the handbrake... need to modify it so i can install it.

And the brake pedal covers require me to drill the pedals... So... Need a drill for that (dont have one).

Now im waiting for my Carbon Fiber Vinyl, Shifter Boot and replacement rear speakers.
Now all i need is more money to finish things up. Yay........ I'm really looking forward to driving the car on my own and working on the car but i just cant afford it which depresses me. I had like three mood swings while writing this lol.
