1) Does anyone know if 235/40's will fit on my STi enkei's? The guy at bob jane said probably not, and Stechnic garage said yes??

2) Has anyone painted the yellow washer bottle caps/oil dipstick/coolant covers? (Im looking at you Mark hehe). Basically I want to paint these red to match, just wondering what the best type of paint would be?

The AUDM STi enkei is 7.5", IMO 235/40 would be too much on that rim. The JDM STI enkei however, is 8" and 235/40 is fine, a member on here has that combination.

235/40 will definitely fit on the rims. I can't comment on clearances to your guards tho.

My next set im looking at 235s as well so I'd like to see how you go.

Haven't painted them before but could assume you wouldn't need a heatproof paint as they're safe to touch when the car has been running. Plastic primer and standard red paint I'd say, like PlastiKote?

I was trying really hard to look at those awesome photos, but my eye kept floating back to something that was playing on my mind.
Dude with white jeans and what appear to be ewok ugg boots

In terms of painting those plastic bits, the main focus would have to be on making sure they were fully cleaned & degreased. Tape them up and hit them with a low heat proof paint. 3 or 4 coats and a clear. You could try not clearing them to get a flatter look, but then greasy fingers would mess that shit right up.

235/40 on a 7.5 is fine.

JimmyS has 235/40/18 with coilovers and didn't scrub. It would all depend on how long though

235's will fit on a 7.5" wheel. Most people fit 225's to their 7" oem wheels.

I have painted them before on a previous car to match...... plastic primer and then the usual method of undercoat and top coat.

I know why theyre yellow, but they do look pretty out of place in a neat engine bay.

Adam.

I painted these a while back myself.

Use a plastic primer, undercoat and topcoat as Mark has suggested, they come up a treat. :D

I ended up using a satin black for the top coat as for me the gloss, was a little too glossy.

Cheers,
Rusty.

New tyres have so much grip! Very happy with them. The 235/40's only just fit though.

Also got this goody yesterday and have been playing around with it. Not bad for a rough first run where i didnt even stall it up and was turning right from start off.
