Picked up some Samco radiator hoses for myself and Justin. Delivery took nearly 3 months.....

On they went at the first oil change drop.

I was also having issues with the wideband reading properly, so instead of using the ventboostgauge, i am temporarily using the gauge that came with it It was hard finding a temporary spot, but this one seems to work:

Thanks to Bruce and some guy at the Liberty kebab meet not long ago, helped me understand that in the air pump system, there is a solenoid that the car needs. Without it, the car thinks that it is underwater.

It basically made it hard to get the car off the line and it would carry on. So i got out the air pump section i needed and cut out the sensor with a hack saw... Took me a few hours but i was being cautious. Here's the one you need in case anyone else comes across it.

You just need the black part on the top. Good luck to anyone who needs to do it... ;)

So currently the car is back on the road and has had it's run in tune done.

Now i'm just waiting to get the proper tune done (I've clocked up 2000km's already) :)

First wash after being back on the road.

Finally, i just want to say:

1. Thank you to Phil Lowe. - Your work is awesome, the engine sounds great, and quiet. You've been quite supportive and happy to have a chat and explain things. Anyone thinking of a rebuild, i highly recommend him.

2. Justin, Gino and Bruce - Thanks guys for everything. Your support, your knowledge and your help when a brother is in need. I couldn't have done it without you guys there. Also thanks Justin for having a direct line to Adam @ Tuspeed when i needed some parts. :)

3. The forums - Always a knowledge of wealth and humour as well. Thanks to all of you.

4. And last but not least, my dad. He's a mechanic with detail and never does anything half baked. Always neat and tidy and nothing is too much of a challenge for him. He's got me out of trouble many times and helped me so much, so thanks dad. :)

Time for me to go and enjoy the drive home.

I'll update the first post with all parts used later tonight. Thanks guys.

Brian

Nice work Brainy. Mega effort and looks like it's going to pay off soon with a ripper tune.

Love how neat it still looks under the bonnet. :D

Yeah it's great fun driving it now that the atmo valve is there doing its job.. :)

The hoses were $160 for the 2 required with clamps.
I got them from a place in QLD who is the distributer? They also have to import them from the UK. Lucky me, the shipment was delayed, so i was left waiting a while...

My Brother Brainy.....Finally....you have made the announcement...I couldnt hold your cosworth excitement any longer!

Yes Many Thank U's go out to Brother Gino, Bruce, Sir Phil Lowe, Mechanic Dad, Tuspeed, Cihan and anyone else we have forgotten....you know who you guys are 8)

What a adventure we have had with our cars? It was my duty and pleasure to be there to assist and lead you into your engine building progress....all the hard work will be paying off soon! just need to upgrade your turbo when the time is right :)

I know your mod bug isnt quite over ....ahem....brakes and wheels.... :P

btw? those port and polish pictures of the heads are mine....and not yours  but no doubt Phil has spent countless hours making them awesome just as he did with mine...

As we have just experienced the "howling noise" the car makes from the headjob Phil has done is just breathtaking! :D

Almost there brother :bb:
