Glad to hear there's movement :) - Solve this leak issue and you should be able to get the car to do what it should really be capable of!

Yeah not celebrating yet guys but thanks for the kind words of encouragement

Have ordered a new wastegate valve seat in the hope of fixing it

I have other springs so will try that next if the fire ring / valve seat doesn't fix it

I have read multiple reviews of the tial mvs wastegate, and there are some issues I need to test out with mine. Two things I've mentioned above, and something linked to that is apparently when installing the v band clamp on the wastegate, you will feel tension against the valve seat to compress the wastegate spring pressure slightly in order for the v band to sit. I have taken the wastegate off about 10-15 times now and not once ever felt this "spring tension" against the valve seat. So perhaps that's my problem.

In saying that, I've never had a boost spike issue. And the multiple times I've had to reset the hks evc, you need to go wot against the spring pressure and its always been 21psi (in line with the spring setup I have in the wastegate), plus or minus 1.5psi.

Its just laggy as all hell. Perhaps the hks evc is doing such a great job of regulating boost.

Lets see how this all goes

So per avcs tuning thread, I've been optimising the dual avcs tables for my car. I have been pretty happy with the results. I'm getting 28psi by 4000rpm in 3rd gear and 3800rpm in 4th gear.

The wastegate seems to still be leaking slightly (as designed), which affects immediate boost response when you mash the throttle. I've tuned around this mostly though, and this is the most I've ever enjoyed the car.

With the new avcs settings, its ridiculously fast. Comes on extremely strong in the mid range and holds til about 7200rpm.

I feel that I need a larger turbo to take advantage of the 8500rpm redline. Thus my gtx3076 is in the for sale section of the forum for anyone interested.

I'm heading towards a gtx3576, or efr 7670. Both have the same size 76mm compressor wheel (although the extended tip designs pf both turbos puts them closer to a 78mm compressor wheel).

Also thinking of changing to twin scroll headers and twin scroll rear housing. This will make up for any loss of spool of going to the larger turbine wheel.

Should be good for same / better spool and about 30-50whp at the top end.

Good to hear, and looking forward to see what it's like with a bigger turbo!

Someone buy Mick's gtx3076 so we can find out soon

Thanks mick

You definitely made a believer of me in the efr turbos.

Should've also pointed out in case anyone is wondering - the gtx3076 also has the extended tip technology making it circa 78mm compressor - hence why the gtx3076 is able to make the same power as the gt3582 (82mm compressor wheel), with the spool of a gt3076.

The reason I am upgrading is for the rear turbine wheel. With a good flowing set of heads and headers, and particularly with good avcs tuning, the smaller turbine wheel is maxxed out earlier in the rev range. Thus the upgrade.

No chance of low mount - not prepared to spend that much for the changeover.

Will most likely use twin scroll psr headers, with custom twist mount twin scroll adapter to mount a t4 flanged twin scroll 1.00 a/r and twin 38mm gates

Sussing out cost of twin scroll adapter now and total changeover cost before I make final decision

Dan - no worries will hopefully let you know once its done

Hey, don't suppose you have any pictures of how your cold side intercooler pipes are run and the MAF location?

Suppose because you've got a blended setup you didn't need to bother going for an overly large section for the MAF to get good range before maxing out?

In hindsight that's what I should've done, however initially wasnt thinking I would max the maf so went with a 3.25" pipe.

Would definitely gain some resolution by reducing the pipe size. Probably worth it wth the large injectors to gain some better fuel economy and light throttle, light load response.

Just to be a pain ;) Do you reckon you could take a pic and email it for how and where it's mounted. The way my one is currently mounted is pretty tight between the battery terminal and oil fill tube as it is so adding a 2.8-3" pipe in its place may be a bit much

the obvious fix is to use a low profile battery
