Purchased a sillicon inlet pipe too. Thanks pro-speed!

So courier just arrived with new turbo and blue pipe. Good times. Busy weekend ahead me thinks.
I can say that the BBK is much bigger than the 34p18. Bad times ahead for my bottom end.

Ian.

Big working day.

This is the BBK-bb next to a bloch td05-20g The BBK is on the left. Note the size of the compressor housing.

From left to right we have the vf34, the td05-20g, and the BBk

The exhaust side of the BBK on the left and the td05-20g on the right. Doesn't really show up, but the BBK is well ported around the turbine, and has a much bigger wastegate flapping device (WFD)

The BBK all fitted up. Yes, I did forget to put the cap on, and coolant went from arsehole to breakfast.

Nothing to see here officer.

So yeah, it is in place. I am a little a paranoid as I can still smell coolant, but that is most likely due to the amount that purged out when I left the cap off / removed the lines. I also suspect there is an exhaust leak from the turbo up pipe flange. I'll do some no boost cruising tonight with a torch and keep an eye on it.

It really wants a tune too.

It is a pro speed racing silicon jobbie with an a&mauto 3" pipe to the afm which now lives in the gaurd. Long and thick does the trick!

Very interested to see how this pans out!

Keep the pics coming and I hope to see some dyno graphs soon.

Your motor is unopened, right?

No photos today, but changed the waste gate actuator. The one that was on there would not budge until 25+ psi. A wee bit of work and there is a 12psi on on there now.
Just waiting on some injectors, fit the new boost controller and then it is choon time!

Grimmspeed boost controller fitted this morning. Nice easy job after the weekend's work.
Oh, and my engine cover certainly doesn't go back on after the silicon inlet. So, some butchery will be required in the near future.

Have you tried running it with a shorter CAI piping? I've found that people that who have it so far down in the guard lose a little throttle response. People forget sometimes that they spend all this money on a massive "intercooler", and think they still need to be getting <25-30 degrees and their pod filter.

Oh and no shiny heat shield to say look at my new turbo? Hehe

Simon: I'll get excited about photos after the dyno. I fear posting pictures up then finding out something I have done has made my car a hand grenade. Also, there isn't too much detail that I can get a camera to. The fit of the turbo would have been quite straight forward had i been running a top mount. But I had to rotate the compressor housing, which meant things fowled on other things. Fortunately for me my mate builds turbos for a living. So, after a few hours of machine we got everything to fit. There is a lot of bespoke shit in there but I just cannot show it in a photo. Oh, and the "CBRD" tag fell off the compressor housing and it had the BPT logo underneath.

Taylor: As you can probably by the sate of the car I am not too concerned about bling. That being said, a new stock heat shield might be a nice touch. Or I might paint the exciting one black. Once the "function" side of the car is under control I will start working on the form. I plan on having all the piping painted in a textured black coating. My mate has it on his race car and it look great. I will most likely replace as many hoses as I can with black speed flow too. But that will be a slow and expensive process.
