I had the muffler realigned yesterday.

Im happy it sits as it should now. But I'm really disappointed with the welding job tho it looks shit house.

Who did the welding on the inlet to the mufflers?

Or are you referring to the factory tcp welds?

The factory tcp welds look fantastic. The inlet pipe was just welded in the wrong position.

My local muffler guy cut the inlet pipe then rotated the muffler body so it sits right. He had to adjust a hanger as well.

It's his welding back together that looks terrible.

Pull muffler off and clean up the weld with a flapper disc.

My mate owns an exhaust shop. Although his welds are spot on, last full system we put on a previous car of mine, as he built it, I flapper disc'd all the welds smooth. It was all mandrel bent pieces and in the end looked like one piece of pipe.

Would I need to coat it with some thing once I hit it with the grinder??

Did he weld it with stainless rods or mild steel?

Stainless you wont have to do anything, mild steel will get some surface rust on it anyway even left as it. If mild steel, clean up the weld, mask it out and use some silver exhaust paint to just paint over the weld.

I would say mild steel because he has sprayed some of that silver exhaust paint over the weld.

Well the rain today stopped me from painting the eaves of my house today. So I installed my resomat instead.

I only had the small pack but it was enough for me to do all 4 doors, boot lid and the spare wheel well. Everything has a much nicer thud when closing now.

Yeah definitely worth it.

Took it for a drive with the resomat today. Another mod definitely worth it.

Doors close with a nice thud now.
Road noise is noticeably quieter.
Music is much less tinny and more punchy.
The small amount of exhaust drone from the tcp quads has been eliminated.

I would definitely recommend getting in on the resomat group buy.
