Finally arrived and fitted! Enkei NT03 18x9.5 +40

Postby drndrn » Sat Sep 03, 2011 6:33 pm

After a wait of a couple months and probably over a hundred emails back and forth between various vendors/companies my rims have finally arrived!

Haven't quite got all the niggling issues sorted yet such as camber (new coilovers aren't camber adjustable) and tyres, but during the wait for their arrival I had the time to grind back my guards and various bits and pieces to avoid any more scrubbing that I used to get on my old rims (which sat 1mm in compared to these).

Yeh the way I test fitted them was pretty ghetto, but I was in a rush and was far too excited to get it done properly lol. I'm sure there will be a few haters out there who think they're just not functional, waste, stupid etc etc but I personally like it.

Anyways without further adieu, introducing my new rims...

Enkei NT03+M
18x9.5 +40 in Silver.
Was a limited run by Enkei organised by Spun Performance (I think), as these normally don't come in this size with 5x100 PCD

A little bit of dish + concave never hurt

As you can see, fitment is quite tight

Need more camber

As you can probably see, fitment is tight, and there's a bit of poke, but I'm fairly confident I can get them to fit with 235/40/18's or 245's if I decide to put my ride height up a bit. I definitely need camber bolts/plates to get -2.5ish in the front for clearance, while the rear I'm fairly sure they'll clear with -1 or -1.5. I've run the above set up before with 18x9 +35's and had very minimal issues.

Let me know what you all think

Darren.

The rims look veeeeery nice, but just too wide for my liking with too many issues requiring adjustments needed to make them work.

Yeah that's fair enough, I guess I don't mind so much because I've been through it all before with my previous set up so I already have a rough idea of whats going to work and what's not going to work.

On the front, I probably have 3-5mm of clearance, which sort of worries me lol. So I'll try camber bolts first, which will only camber in the hub/wheel and if that fouls on strut, then I'll get a set of aftermarket camber plates which should tilt or camber in the whole strut, hub and wheel meaning i shouldn't have any fouling issues. That's my logic of it all anyways but I could be wrong so if anyone cares to correct me, feel free to do so.

Okay here are some quick snaps I took while it rained today, car is amazingly dirty and I apologise for the shit photography.

The photos really don't do these wheels justice, they look much better in person than they do in photos, regardless here they are fitted to my car, although I still want to sort out a few more niggling issues, so far so good. Very minimal rubbing with doing u-turns quickly or taking turns really hard.

Enjoy.
