So an unexpected mod today.. New battery!! Went to buy the beers for my grandmother's 90th ( ) birthday party yesterday afternoon and, alas, I couldn't get them home again.. :(

So a couple trips to Battery World and Super Cheap saw me purchase a Century NS40ZS.. I originally bought the Ultra Hi-Performance only to find that the poles were too big for the terminals on my car - so changed it for the one I have now.

Is it just me, or are the batteries on our cars tiny? What's involved in upgrading the battery?

Its not just you. What is involved is basically getting a new bigger battery and new terminals that fit said newer battery.

Once you have the battery and new terminals, all you need to do is cut/unbolt the stock wires from the stock terminals and then bolt them to the new terminals (may need to attach ring terminals in order to bolt down depending on your new terminals).

I upgraded to an Optima D34 Blue top, but only reason behind that was for the high CCA and my car audio.

Below is an image of my install. Obviously your wires won't be anywhere near as thick. You will have 1 cable going to the negative which along the line splits into 2 cables that go to the engine and chassis grounds. And you will have 2 cables leaving the positive. The thin black cable next to the thick blue cable below and the cable under the red wing nut on the image below.

So I don't need to upgrade earths or anything like that? It's a bit late now seeing as though I've got the one installed but good to know for the future. I was considering purchasing the new terminals but since I was a very time poor man today figured I'd just do it the easy way with the correct size battery.

Going by your current list of audio mods, the stock earths should be fine.

If you add another amp then I'd be upping the stock earths to 4 gauge or higher.

It's HD mounts not bushes, and yes you should get the mounts, don't bother with the endlinks.

Great Tom. Alex is very friendly and very professional. To be completely honest, there are parts that had been overlooked but in terms of correction the paint is virtually swirl free. Post detail pictures & car washing tips are usually emailed however he is having problems with his laptop.

Yes. I actually just used sikaflex. It cured around the mesh and held quite well. If I change my mind and am not happy with it I'll let you know about the badge holder
