castek boost project

Postby castek » Tue Jan 25, 2011 2:13 pm

So for those that havent read my posts, i am going down the path of introducing some boost to an N/A 2.5.

Now to be a bit different, this wont be supplied by a turbo, rather a supercharger.

First stage of the project involves the monitoring, so a wideband and boost gauge are to be mounted into the cubby

Stage 2 is the tuning: can we make some definitions so that the ecu is readable in romraider? We've got some interest shown for people willing to assist with this.
If tuning is possible in this method then stage 3 commences:
Raptor SC blower kit

This will be run with my own tune at around 6psi and at a later stage (depends on funds) a fmic is to be added to help out.

If the car is too hard to tune without a cooler, then this will be brought up the list.

Visit www.castekauto.net for a blog on the changes i am making and once some projects begin i'll be posting how to's.

Interesting project. Always great to see someone doing something different.

What sort of power are you hoping for?

What's the auto got to do with the price of fish?

The auto box is really tough, they've used the same auto for many years behind wrx's and gt libs

You've also got to remember that this isn't a turbo. Superchargers make good torque lower in the rev range.

For a street car what more would you need?
If wasracing it a set of diff gears would sort things out anyway
