Two years ago I bought myself a 1991 GX Liberty AWD that had been converted. The turbo running the show was pretty much the very small VF10 @ 12 psi which is about 100 kw atw.
Last month the car had 245 kw atw, ran a slow 12.4 @ 114 (AVO450) but did a 118 mph which was a positive. However not really the numbers that 245 kw should've produced. So I pulled the engine down and found the heads were leaking like a sieve, the stock extractors were cracked and leaking in two places.
So I've sold the built EJ207 and bought a 2007 EJ257 from Subaru which I then had SJ Auto install CP pistons and also port and polish the Version 5 STI Type R heads. New GT Spec headers are to be installed along with a knocklink and hopefully some coilovers. The 2L was an awesome engine and ran 24 psi all day. However I would rather run 18 psi all day and make the same power
So the specs:
