havent updated this in ages! a lot has gone on in the last year or so, killed the engine at the start of the year after trashing it too hard on track( i guess), caught fire on the motorway as a road decided to leave the block, luckily it extinguished after a few minutes.

Bought a crashed jdm legacy to take the engine out thinking i would put my car back to standard and just drop in the donor engine, after a bit of checking it was decided to open it up just to check out the condition of bearing etc, just as well as the big end bearings were on the way out, so full rebuild of that with some new ACL bearings, Wiseco forged pistons and Eagle rods and all the other usual stuff while the engine was out.

Car has done about 7000kms now since rebuild and is driving good, but those Wiseco pistons are noisey as hell when cold! I have some fueling upgrades on the way as last set of logs showed injectors peaking at 104%, so sending the spare set i have off to get reflowed to about 850cc and a upgraded Deatschwerks 65c fuel pump, Along with Grimspeed EBCS ill get a retune on the dyno and see how much power its putting down .

Plan then is upgrading to Blouch 1.5 XTR TS, turbo xs fmic and KStech intake, Kando headers and up pipe, that "should" be the end of my power mods!

On the exterior side of things i got the STI style replica lip which since fitting needs repainting!

Onto the interior, i got an interior recently from a crashed uk spec b cop car, few small scuffs and usual wear but apart from that its in great condition.

I sent my spare Momo wheel off to Redline goods to get re-trimmed in some new leather with red stitching, i received it back a few weeks ago but i wasn't happy with their first efforts so i sent it back to them to get done again. You can already see from this picture the problems with it:

Image

Hopefully it comes back better this time as my review of this wheel wrap of theirs will either make or brake their sales of additional wraps for 03-06 legacy's/libertys!

I would love to get a front end respray as the paint is in a bad way and then focus on some suspension mods maybe. I guess ill be keeping this car for another few years, i was looking at upgrading to a new legacy, but only ones available in Ireland are in diesel form. The cost of importing a newer one from Japan is not viable at the minute so i think ill keep it until i can afford an 07/08 rs4 or rs6 :)

Mate fantastic effort with the mods and persistence!

I love what you're doing with this.

How did u go fitting the electric seats with memory into your car? Did you splice the wiring from anywhere?

If you have e85 handy I'd get a tune for that fuel ;)

Good luck dan

It keeps me out of trouble! I still have to sort out the power for the passenger seat, someone from UK is giving me a connector for the power and ill probably just then splice into the power on drivers side. The seats have no memory function so one less problem there, it would be good if i can get the heater function working too. which requires me getting a heater switch and probably relay to make it work.

@jslayz: hopefully the wheel comes back better this tie, the joys of being the guinea pig i suppose! Im not sure how far out my purchase of the new turbo will be. i need to decide whether to get the blouch version or the scoobyclinics sc42 version, whatever works out cheaper i suppose!

Thanks guys, Legacy's are not very popular over here unlike the liberty's for you guys which seem to be a popular car over there, so im my own over here figuring out the best upgrade route etc, what parts to use and that. Hopefully it will be a nice quick stealthy daily driver with the new turbo in and a re-tune to suit. Might get a bit of mesh to cover up the FMIC core too

Ill probably get the fmic and CAI pipes covered in something to help prevent heatsoak, just need to decide on wrap or reflective tape or some kind of painting process,

Need to put some fresh heatwrap on the up pipe and headers too, larger injectors and it should be good for a re-tune them. Just need this snow to fack off!

car went in yesterday for turbo upgrade, oil and coolant change, and some new lowering springs, hopefully i have it back on Friday, ill need to get the spare injectors i have flow tested and see if they are up to the job, i think they are around 850cc which might be a bit big for this application, then a proper tune and should be able to start enjoying it!
