Vent boost gauge

Postby tangcla » Fri Nov 19, 2010 8:03 am

So I've been a RHD beta tester for a new vent boost gauge.

It's pretty darn awesome. Capacitative touch buttons, ambient light sensor, high resolution OLED display, 5x peak history graphs, voltage meter, AFR graph(via LC-1 interface)...
There are plans to develop an oil pressure sensor input as well.

I saw that thread on LGT for development of hte product, looks very impressive :)

Is that the same guy who hacked the comms protocol for the Mazda dashboard displays so he could display anything on the factory dot matrix screen?

There's an awful lot of win right there

I've never been a fan of pillar-mounted gauges personally and mounting them anywhere else has either been ugly or taken something else away (cubby hole for example). Are they planning on adapting it to suit other cars (ie different fascia sizes, different/generic sensor inputs)? If so I think there's a pretty big market out there for them.

If it displayed in psi it'd be the business. How bright is the display at night? Not too distracting?

Displays in both metric and imperial, user-configurable setting.

You would require a turbo first John. :P

That is a very neat, stealth setup. I'd like to see night time pics.

It shows vacuum :p
Most importantly it's got a volt meter, crucial for me

Looks good, Clarence. Is there a control panel of some sort to allow you to customise the settings/readings/display?

There are three capacitive buttons ( I think that's the word) on the unit itself which allow you to customize the display.

I had a read of the manual, seems real easy to use and install

There are three buttons on the left of the unit which can bring up peak recall (5 of them), and a menu.
