Here are some of the detail pictures not from not too long ago:

Paint was in pretty average condition as expected on most dark colours and the previous owner didn't really wash it properly resulting in some scratches and swirls marks etc. The paint came up good besides a couple of bird shit stains that would have been left on too long by previous owner and etched through. Enjoy:

Attacked with some 3in1 Cleaner and degreaser:

Wheels Washed, decontaminated and then wheel sealant applied:

Next day car foamed and then washed with two bucket method:

Paint decontaminated with clay bar:

Headlights had small patches of hazing/oxidising and a couple of scratches so buffed out and then sealed to prevent from happening for good:

Then the paint correction begins:

Very nice Hamish. Will be booking my wife's poor black accord Euro in with you next year when we return to Adelaide for sure! The interior and exterior need a lot of work. Then I'll let you work your magic on my car!

I'm pretty sure now that he is out of the closet about it, he will detail more peoples cars!
I wish he lived in Vic, but I guess we have Damien from FI out here so no need for you Hamish

Seriously guys if you are after a detail in SA, send Hamish a PM....you won't regret it.

I am now detailing a few more cars again now. Including a Black C63 AMG on the weekend and then a new ML550 which is going to be amazing!!!!!!! :D

If job prospects work out, we'll move back Jan 2012... look forward to meeting up with the Adelaide liberty crew when we return. Grew up in Adl, been in Brisbane last 4 years for work/study... time to return home though.

Hey Hamish have you detailed many older cars and if so are the results worth it in general? The only reason I am asking is that my MY01 has what I thought was reasonable paint for the age and was wondering if it is worth seeing how it would come up with a decent detail or just stick with washing/polishing with stuff off the shelf and thus not blowing cash?

Damn hamish nice!

I really need to get correcting on my car...even though it's silver I'm anal enough to notice the imperfections!

Go to the petrol stations with the Metal-halide lights they are perfect to show up imperfections on cars or even 1000W twin stand like I use.

However silver does hide alot of demons though :assassin:

Cheers again for the help.

On the bug eye i did a couple of passes with a 4" Lake Country LCC pad and Menzerna 203S cutting compound, then finished it off with a Black 4" LCC pad with Menzernza polishing 85RD. Gave it a alcohol wipe and then sealed with permanent sealant so they won't oxidise or haze again!

If it's any more oxidised or scratched up then some 2500-3000 wet sanding would probably been the go before hand.
