Bargain pricing.

I'll be keeping this place in mind. I'll be due for new rotors soon. Will do same as you when time comes.

Which hawk pads did you order?
Cheers

You won't be disappointed man.

I bought Hawk Performance Ceramics. I ran a group buy last year for them from a place in the USA. A lot cheaper than buying them anywhere in Australia from what I've seen.

No. The discs were from Rotors & Drums Australia and the pads were from someone I found on eBay that agreed to help me out with pricing for the group buy I organised.

Not a problem at all. It could be close to the same time I organise a group buy for more Hawk Performance brake pads so keep your eye out for it.

So last month the car went in for the listed repairs however it came out with a slightly larger list:

  • minor service
  • reseal front timing cover
  • front crank seal
  • replace both rocker cover gaskets
  • oil cooler O-ring
  • replace LHF and RHF wheel bearings
  • replace power steering pump with a genuine reconditioned one
  • replace both CV boots and transmission output seals (all genuine seals and boots)
  • replace both accessory belt idlers
  • replace slightly bent pulley

It was an expensive trip out to ICHIban this time round, but after two days of work, the car is mechanically immaculate now! I feel the car drives a lot better and things are working exactly as they should. I'm extremely happy with the workmanship and communication that the boys had with me and I appreciate all the help they have given.

I also managed to make it down to Ben again yesterday to check out my strut as it seemed to be knocking slightly. It only took a bit of smacking and filing before everything sat perfectly. I now hear nothing wrong with the car whatsoever; cheering!

Next on the list is to get a few things installed including my master brake cylinder stopper, TCP quad mufflers, Xforce centre and Y-pipe (which I still have to buy as Best Mufflers were sold out), Weapon R cold air intake and my new licence plates. Pictures will be provided with these updates as they occur of course. And if you aren't already aware, I have made other arrangements with regards to my tune after not being able to meet up with Matt. I believe it will be a better choice personally than taking Matt on and I definitely will not regret it. The news will come as I get closer to that stage of course. I plan to get all of this done before the SubyClub Hunter Valley Cruise so fingers crossed! :)

Running like new man! It definitely drives and performs better. I'm hoping to get the rest of the list ticked off before the HVC comes around. I am just waiting on Best Mufflers in Carlton to get more Xforce front mufflers and Y-pipe assemblies in.

Should I install the quad mufflers in now?

Of course.
The quads on the stock system sound fine, that's what I'm running with at the moment.
I was planning on fitting the headers over my next holiday, but I have a small dent to knock out first. :)

Consider it done then. I'll just wait until Best Mufflers gets the front muffler and Y-pipe in stock again. Thanks Jase. Won't happen until later in the week though as I've got no time today whatsoever. I'll definitely be getting a before and after pic, as well as a sound clip to compare the new system. :D
