BIg thanks to Ben, BBB, for coming along for the adventure picking up another new toy.

Was quite an adventure driving from Sydney to Melbourne in a car with no number plates.

Got pulled over once, whilst Ben was driving, but had all the necessary paperwork, so all good.

Great chatting with Ben along the way about the benefits of boron nitride spray. I'm almost convinced I need some too.. a

So I've got 2 of these E30 BMWs to keep me busy over winter. Both are in pretty good nick with only suspension fixes to be done to bring them up to RWC standard.

The Lib is running beautifully as ever so I've got plenty of time to spend on bring the BMs upto scratch.

A 10 hour grand tour is the perfect test for a prospective buyer or even just the curious.
The potential just shines through the various minor faults, mostly wear related, and easily fixed or inexpensively upgraded.
The rigidity of the chassis is great even after 30 years, as was the tractability and quiet smoothness of the inline 6.
It was happier at 110 and above, than at 100. I'm hoping to fulfill a dream by acquiring one soon too.

BBB, seems you had the chance to "acquire" one, but did not take the opportunity! Could have been a good test, a Liberty pursuing a BMW E30.

And do tell, what is the application under consideration?

Very nice new toy, Bruce!
Many plans for this one?
Great thing about the 85 model is they never came out with a cat converter standard so you don't have to comply with emission standards. (afaik)

And good job convincing Benny to get one too

Well I've sold my Liberty TBSTI to a mate.

It's going with all the mods and he should love driving it.

This concludes my chapter of Liberty ownership. I've learnt a lot and made some great mates.

I've decided to go back to NA cars and something a bit older with the possibility of becoming a classic.

Here are some crappy pics of my new ride.

Anyone care to guess what it is?

Better pics to follow once it's completed its preparation post delivery.

Cheers.
