Ok guys.
To get these SI covers at a reasonable price I need to make a few of them.
So who wants one too? I can finalise a design and have a test piece printed by the end of next week. Already have a fab shop lined up. So wont be too long before they'd be in your hot little hands.
For those interested you can have some input in the design, but the majority will rule as its only cost efficient if we stick to 1 type.

If anyones interested, send me a pm and we'll go from there.

Anodising is an extra step, so it's an extra cost. So I'll just be making Stainless or polished aluminium. If people want colours then you can just get it anodised yourself afterwards.
I have several designs done now. I'll post some pictures soon and people can have their say. I won't be able to make everyone happy though, so everyone's going to have to compromise a bit :-)

Not sure yet Ryan. Depends on the numbers. Machine shops charge per hour, and the first 1 will take 3 hours to get the set up right. So the more we make, the easier it is to offset the first one.
The price will be much less than Prova used to charge for theirs, and a lot less than members sell the Prova ones for in an effort to make a buck.

No stomping here, we got so far yet with no result, and it looks like you have the time and resources to get it done.
I've linked the OP to your post, will update if you begin a new thread...
If you contact Russ at Kap, he may have a contact for bulk OS production :good:

Been a looooong time since i made an update!
Lots of things been happening.

Made the decision to make a few aesthetic mods to the wagon.

Firstly, i got some of Leo's halo's and blacked out the headlights - see photo below

Secondly, i thought the car would look better with tinted tail lights to match the blacked out headlights. I don't love night shade, so spoke to a few shops about film tinting. They want $250 to do the tail lights!! So i swiftly refused that, and decided to try it myself. Bought the tint off ebay (around $20) and a heat gun ($50). The end result was an epic failure and after trying twice, i'm convinced that its not possible on the wagon tail lights. I can get the whole bottom half of the light perfect, but as soon as you go over the ridge into the top half you end up with way too much tint and cant avoid it bunching up. So long story short, scrapped that plan for now haha

Thirdly, i bought a strut brace. I've heard mixed reviews about them and many say they don't feel a difference. So i wasn't expecting much. But i have to say its by far the best handling mod i've done. Its like it was the missing piece that tied it all together. My theory is that the stiff sway bars increased the amount of flex of the strut towers due to there being no give in the lower half of the car. As a result the car has significantly less body roll, the steering feels much more direct, and i'm finally feeling the slight under steer at turn in, followed by miles of grip that i've heard is a result of stiff front sway bars.

Lastly, have been looking into some wheels. I really want 19's as i prefer the look of bigger wheels, but have just read about the physics of increasing your rolling diameter. An increase of 25mm is a torque loss of approx 3.5%. Although i probably wouldn't feel that... its a tough thing to come to terms with. Im looking at 8.5" wide wheels, which depending on whether i go 225 or 235 wide tyres, will result in a rolling diameter increase of 13-20mm. That is unless i can grow a pair and get 35 profile tyres, but the ride quality of that scares me.

I really like these wheels on the black liberty... Rays 57xtreme. I cant justify buying genuine ones of those, but you can get replicas by reputable manufacturers at a very reasonable price.

The Rays are a killer wheel choice but usually at the expense of your first born. Have you checked out Koya wheels? They do custom sizes to suit what ever you want especially to avoid guard modifications. Certainly recommend their quality.

As for the tint in the taillights, most guys opt for the tint in a can option which you can DIY.
Cheers

I have the Koya Inspiri ISR7 18x8 5/100 with a +45 offset. Running a continental MC5 225/45/18 all round and it has the slightly stretched look which I dont mind, but there is also enough side wall to help protect the rim a bit too. I have had to do no guard modifications at all even with a full car load. No scraping whatsoever.

I'd make sure you double check and confirm anything from Koya wheels.
I was looking at getting http://www.koya.com.au/cars/sf01-18%E2% ... ustom-fit/ and for them to fit over Brembos they said I'd they'd have to machine them to +32.
I think the way they do custom offsets is they are basically all the same blank that they machine the hub mounting surface but the spoke design stays the same.

Hey Adam, car is looking good. I had also thought about getting the front strut brace but do you have a heavier duty swaybar on the front? I think you are saying you have.

Also with the tail light tint, is it possible to do it in two pieces or would it be too hard to join the line with the shrink factor?
