Love 80s Beemers.
Chrome delete FTW!
I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!

The BM is at my place now. Thanks for organising the tow GB.

I started it and ran it for 30 mins in the driveway. No overheating issues noticed.

No water in the oil or vice versa. So happy about that.

All electrics work.

I have to get it lifted for a RWC, too low, and get the transmission sorted. I'm ringing around for parts and quotes.

Took the roof down at let the kids have a play in it on the weekend.

Am also mildly curious in getting an E46 M3 with a 6 speed manual. Will see how that goes in the next few weeks/months.

Here are some pics with the roof down in my driveway.

Great pick up! My previous car was exactly this car in black! '85 E30 323i TC Baur Auto. We've had three TC Baurs in the family now - 318i, 323i and 325e.
You've got a much cooler interior though! Looks very clean. What does it say in that compartment under the AC/fan controls?
I wouldn't bother with any engine conversions yet, I'd be on the search for a manual gearbox and LSD which will be plenty of fun. The 323 engine isn't underpowered but auto trans and open diff kills a lot of sideways fun.

Here's a pic of my old girl. I still think the fun factor in the E30 is higher than my GT. One day I'll be back in an E30 M3....drool......

Enjoy! I'll be watching progress on this :D

I really really miss my E46 330CI M-Sport....Severely. The GTB is good, stable, sure-footed - but a 6sp manual, RWD coupe is just a ball of fun everytime you drive it, and the crackle & pop on the overrun from the straight six was just an eargasm... I've driven an SMG M3 and that was a laugh - so much power. Kw/Nm mean nothing, the power delivery & acceleration are incomparable to a VE SS or the like putting down the same numbers.
