Nothing much going on with my car at the moment.

The cam gears have been diagnosed as failing so I'm just about to order replacement gears and OCV solenoids to sort out this issue.

I've got the 100,000km service coming up so all other mods are on hold till this is done and dusted.

The MSR tune has been fantastic to date. No CELs, good economy on cruise and whenever I've checked the tune it's been fault free and pretty much spot on.

The only other thing I've done recently is insulated the Cobb intake box. I got a piece of NSL foam off 3rspecb. Thanks G! :D

It's this stuff: http://www.pjbowers.com.au/nsl_foam.html

I've blocked off the area where the intake resonator used to sit, as there was a gap which was was drawing air off the headers. This in turn seemed to be causing IAT's to be a little higher than normal.

The insulation of the intake area has seen lower IATs and a lot less induction noise. The pod filter is still noisier than the stock box, expected, though now it's a lot easier to live with during day to day driving.

sounds great, im going to do something with mine as the alloy tube and plate that holds the pod gets a little hot! did you log this temp change? maybe the heat off that side causes the avcs to play up   jokes

Yeah I did, Mick had told me during the dyno runs it got to 58 degrees.

I'd checked it previously and would constantly see temps in the mid 50s.

After the change I was seeing 45 degrees on those hot days last week after the run home.

And over the last few days with the cooler weather 32 degrees at most.

You know I'm secretly checking.

Thanks for noticing.

Got to wash the car today after work so took a couple of pics whilst clean. Pics taken on my iphone so not the greatest by a long shot.

8 days to go to get my timing belt, AVCS cam gears, one step colder plugs, DW65C fuel pump and filter and have all the fluids changed.

Car should feel like new again.

Well my Lib has been running beautifully since I fixed a couple more niggles. The tune is performing brilliantly and I can't find anything else to fault or fix.

So I've bought something else to keep me amused.

It's a 1985 BMW Baur TC with a 323i motor. It's an auto transmission car which currently isn't running.

I've always loved these older BMs from a time when they were made in Germany and were a beautiful bit of technology.

I'm hoping to have it fixed over the winter and ready to enjoy over the summer.

Here are some pics.

Nice find

Always had a soft spot for those

Now throw a dirty old fj20 turbo in there and have some fun

Or if you're real adventrous - an rb26 :)
