This is what I've been toying with atm...getting delta speed side skirts installed, going back to the chrome wings grille and colour coding it as such:

Image

The colour I am going for is like a gloss gunmetal grey, looks a little more matte in that photo but you get the picture!

(Thanks imania for whipping that up for me in a jiffy :) )

So something very scary happened to me last night. Well it was scary for me. Just driving along late at night towards the servo, when all of a sudden, power cut to my car, the dash faded off and the engine was off. Not knowing what to do I let my car roll to a stop and put my hazards on. I couldn't turn the key all the way off so that I could take it out, and I couldn't put the car back into park. Cops pulled up behind me and helped me push the car to the servo, and after a phone call to Mick (dr20t) I was going to call NRMA to help me out, but Mick told me to try to turn the car back on. After turning my immobiliser off, the car cranked and started as normal. It has been fine since.

Mick thinks it might be a faulty earth, I tossed up whether it could have been the immobiliser at all as I didn't think to check whether the red light I have for it was on or not. The main thing that worries me about all of this is what if that had happened at a more precarious situation. I wouldn't want to be taking a sharp corner and all of a sudden lose power and have no power steering or brake booster!

Going to have to get this checked!

I reckon it could be your biu playing up Rome

I had a think about it after we got off the phone. The fact that it cut out suddenly and cleanly tells me its an electronic circuit breakdown. A bad earth wouldve fizzled things out a little before causing everything to die. But the fact it happened spontaneously and cleanly tells me something failed.

Check your remote for the aftermarket alarm, then check your biu and then your earths

Agree that it would be scary to happen at a more compromising time (race track would be scary)
