Thanks chaps. WTA works even better now. ....
Gonna experiment with wastegate acuator length to stop surging at cruise. ... wish me luck.

Looking awesome.

Any reason you're going gtx3582 over the 3576?

3576 can flow 65lb/min at 73% efficiency and make ~600hp atw with slightly better response than the 3582

Really think the 3576 will be enough for most people's goals on a Subaru although it may hit surge easier than the 3582, especially if you go twin scroll.

The killer B headers and couple them with the large cooling capacity WTA and you have the thing trying to spool 1700rpm and up with current turbo.....

Experiment today have shown me that the auto can severely detune the 3000rpm and under area.

Deloaded the wastegate by making the actuator arm 1mm longer than just sliding onto the wastegate mount...
Reset ECU.

Thing drove the smoothest it has for a long time, will sit on one speed at cruise nicely.
Was still hitting 20psi then settling at 19psi through rev range.
Slower and less severe spool at mid throttle.
Less movement of manifold pressure at cruise and mild input.
Then 3/4 of a tank later....TCU is interfering somehow and screwing things up, now does not want to go positive boost at all under 2500!
Just hates on you when you slowly feed throttle on in higher gears.

Going to try the actuator where it is and drive on wastegate pressure only tomorrow or Monday after resetting ECU of course.

What have I learnt; the current Turbo too small for flow of motor with those headers....
auto was changing superbly this morning, just superbly with slower spool... TCU is a piece of sh!t thing

Will have a crack with Matt at trying to retune with the WG slightly open and change boost/requested tq/ wg/ throttle opening strategy to suit.

Starting to think I need to go with the external boost control theory I am forming. Well while I have the auto anyways....

What does the forum think?

Ok wg pressure produced a 35psi spike in 2nd, not at WOT.....no more of that!!!

Traced all tubes to n from Grimmspeed 3port ebc n found a small joiner in the tube from turbo outlet n removed it by adding full new tube.
Drives better now. but wants to go 25psi at Wot..too much!!
I finally feel I'm getting close to having the super fast spool in a livable config....can we get there??
Excited to see if we can...Cmon Matt, I'm sure we can nail it next visit now.....fingers crossed....

What oil are you using? I did a flush on mine and went with ULX110 10W-30 mineral oil (recommended to me via a friend who uses it via S&J) , it seems to be pretty good so far.

Haha you were just going to pick up a hose clamp from go gear and you ended up with a set of new rubber. I like it

Car definitely drives nice, not as "rough" as I thought with the motor being built and all. Although gear changes are very sharp in comparison to my own.
Handling is amazing and precise, the throttle pedal just scared me to much to give it some. I honestly don't reckon I got it down further than half, plenty enough for me :p

Will steal the keys on a cruise one time and give it a bit more, feel it at all its glory :D

Thanks for the spin J :good:
