Notice the front window...

Oh, and anyone know who's car that is?

Do you mean the fact that the front tint looks lighter?

Also, I can probably find out who's car that is if you'd like. I'll ping Rob.

Yeh - it's lighter. Has he done a lib that matches?

Don't worry about finding out, just thought you might have known them and that they may have been on here. Would've been good to see the tint too if they had what I was loking for.

Thanks for your help though.

I'll ping him directly as this is something I need done on my car so will be able to get an exact no bs answer on that.

That pic may be a little bit of a furfee as you can see the windscreen light behind it v's the back of the seats for the rears. Not sure what darkness the rears are tho, they're VERY dark from the factory but are surely no more than the legal max (too many ADR issues).

I'll kick a thread over on WRX.com.au and pull Rob in. :-)

Here's the answer:

This is correct!
You will always have a varition in the depth and colour of any film applied to the front doors in an attempt to match the rear privacy glass.
Rob.

Guess that answers the question in a way we didn't really want to hear.

Day v's night shots make a huge difference as well.

But the 20% tint on the Trieu's car looks VERY dark.

From other thread:

coyote wrote:These are the specs for the privacy glass on an MY08 GT spec.B wagon:

Rear Window
91% UV
40% light

Rear Quarter Glass
93% UV
25% light

Rear Door Windows
94% UV
19% light

So that means it <snip> allows 19% light in the rear door windows (if I read that correctly). Which means a 20% light allowed with black film should get you something similar. But that's going to be illegal in all states.

EDIT: Correction above (thanx Boxer for clarity). The rear doors will allow 19% light through!!! WAAAAY illegal for front doors, making tint darkness maching very tricky.

Cpitts, you'll find that the UV figures are REJECTION and light figures are TRANSMISSION

Same as any tint spec - T35 = 35% Transmission (darkest legal). T20 = 20% Transmission

LED's for parkers and foggies are in, pics updated on first page.

They match pretty close with the Xenons. Actually makes the xenon's look slightly yellow compared to the LED's.

Massive improvement over OEM for brightness and color!

Wow, that is one tight fitting garage! :D But looks good man! What colour are your HID's? I find LED fogs match well with 6000K.

Haha - temporary accommodation (house being built now with 3 garages!!).

They're std ATM. Might look to change them over so they match better later. But, I'm bloody happy compared to what I had! Thanks Leo!!
