Taillights were tinted via the tint film group buy. It's 30% smoke.

mines an 05 model, black of colour << is mine the same black as your if so, how do you get yours so shiny and immaculate (polish)

Yup, same Obsidian Black Pearl. Just have to dust the car everyday, with a quick spray of water every week.

senator wrote:btw ditch the gold nuggets

Can't I just repaint them black to look like yours? :D

LGT-05T wrote:did you do some mods on the rear skirts cause phat said something about the rears of the jap spec were different to the aus spec and that if i ordered the other damd kit they wouldn't fit.

Yup, they sat at Bodyform in Prestons for a few weeks. The rear pods were made for the JDM rear bumper, which are shorter than the AUS one. So Bodyform cut the side pods and extended them.

mate,

im sure you've heard it plenty before, but that is legen-wait for it-dary!

by the way, exactly what kit is that you've got on the side and rear skirts?? and if you dont mind me asking how much did it set you back? and does that mean your K2 side strakes are up for grabs??? hehe

and i think you're right, the 35% tint on the tails is probably a bit strong. Does look nice and stands out by being that much darker, but probably too much.

keep up the good work!

hey jim,
with your taillight tint, could you just go to a local window tinter and ask for them do to it, or do you need to buy the film to suit?

Hi tenrat, please read this previous post regarding you question:

:?: LOL! Who do you think you are? Cpitts? Going around heckling other people's group buys? :D

Thank your tinters for their gold nuggets of wisdom, and let them know any moron willing to use thin tint film meant for interior glass will probably suffer that fate.

However for me and other people of this group buy, we've been blessed with 2mm thick flexible PVC that's durable and UV fade resistent, as described at the start of this thread. This material was meant for exterior use, and will endure the weather, numerous car washes, and the sun. The same taillight tint film I used on my MY05 GT was applied back in 2005, and still looks shiny with no signs of peeling to this very day. I don't recommend or sell products I wouldn't use myself.

I believe so. Dropping them below standard height in NSW will likely need an engineer's cert if the proposed legislation is passed :?
