Well if the tune is right, then there is no need to worry to look at it.

IF its tuned, its a set and forget!!!

Not completely correct

Yes in an ideal world. But a few things could throw your afr out. A boost / vacuum leak that's developed after the tune

A split vacuum hose, wastegate actuator malfunction, bad batch of fuel, blocked air filter, intercooler crack / leak....

And much more

Point is, an afr wideband gauge allows you to monitor the lifeblood of the engine - air and fuel. More specifically, the amount of fuel ratio to air. Too little and you will lean out, causing high compressed charge temps, excessive combustion heat etc.

Thus my point still stands - afr wiseband gauge, always

P0171 is where a Learning View would show that one of the first 3 AF Learning Values was at +25% adding as much fuel as possible to prevent the O2 sensor from leaning out. Even if the new tune changed the values to say 10% from 25%, the ECU was trying to add fuel to its limit.

There is no right bank lean code, Subaru 4 cylinder has all four cylinders on the front AF#1 Sensor. A V6 Commodore or Subaru H6 has a Right Bank code as its 2nd bank.

When you did the air pump delete, did you put anything in the air pumps old hose to block it off?

Were the air pump valves in the back of the head deleted/removed?

I took the pump and the black plastic pipe that lead down the back of the motor and plugged it just at the back near the starter motor..... Nothing removed at the back of the motor in regards to valves etc!!

What are you thinking??

Thought that might have been the cause of the CEL but it does not sound like it.

It'll be interesting to see if it steams a lot on startup after sitting that long, that was the most noticeable thing about my hg issue.
