Headers arrived in post. Australia post contractors are useless by the way. I will take these and get them coated tomorrow.
As for fuel system, I am going to stick with the stock injectors and a FPR on there. Should do the trick. Just too much of a fark around to change from side feed to top feed. I am just doing my homework to find out if one can "grind" the end off the side feeds that are in these.

I thought the stock injectors where no good after about 180-190kwatw? much like the stock turbo.

which headers did you go? equal length im guessing?
keen to hear your review on what it did to your exhaust note, I am considering some but not unless I get some decent power gains for $1000.

Yeah, went Kando equal length. Would have made more of a difference if i went farking mental with the fuel system (ie more boost and timing)
The stockers were at 75% at what ever it is making at the moment (over 180 at the bags). What injectors did you end up going for yours?
I have heard from a reputable subaru person that one can run these injectors to the limit and they are okay, just waiting until after office hours to talk to coyote to run my crazy ideas past him.

Headers dropped of at Competition Coatings. 7-10 day turn around.

Now is a good time to remind everyone how shite Australia Post contractors are. The package arrived at the post office on the 23rd of April. 2 attempts were made to deliver to my house, no "sorry we missed you card." I could have these things back being coated now, and on the rollers ASAP. But no. And you wonder why people choose to shoot up post offices, dogs chase posties and magpies swoop them?

Ian.

These were the injectors I grabbed for our wagon.

I haven't fitted them yet though, so I can't give you any feedback.

Cheers,
Rusty.

Cheers for those injectors. I found a set of Sard 740 side feeds on another forum. We shall see how that works out for me. Could be a winner.

Right, VF34 and DW650 have been sold to a nice chap on rexnet! Purchased PE850 side feeds from Pro-speed racing. For those concerned, it sounds as if Troy has donned the spandex once again and is back on the pushie. He needs to stick to safe things like race cars and downhill bikes.

Well, headers went on today. And knowing how much Rome loves illustrations I decided to take my camera with me.

Firstly, the pipes from Kando. As detailed above, I had some dramas with the post, but here they are, all nicely coated in high temp black. For those of you new to playing with cars note the fact that the right side pipe work loops back on itself, creating further for the air to travel before the up pipe, making it an equal length to the left heads gas path.

Compared to the ones that came off. Notice the design of the old ones, the air from the left hand cylinder head has a lot further to flow than the right side. Hence the unequal lenth headers, and the "boxer rumble." Also note, the are a fairly efficient design. I don't think they would be hurting power too much.

I had the Dump off, so I thought I would take a couple of pics of it. TCP makes a nice exhaust I must say.

Looking into the dump flange.

And the right side with the up pipe. Note the manifold now runs around the oil filter.

Oh, and if you want to play with the big boys, you need one of these. It came off a well known 2j powered corolla.

Results? Well, the car is a lot quieter now, and smoother to drive. I cannot say if there is any difference in performance as I don't feel like standing on it until after the tune, well, let me rephrase that, as i feel like standing on it all the time....I won't give it berries until I know it is safe to do so.
