+1. Yeah....if you want to be 100% sure it will last. Might be a little more expensive than buying a stock 207 but cheaper than a stroked 207 :)

Agree with that….. but the it seems that his current builder will just slap anything together.

Back in the day, I designed and built a few engine jigs and fixtures and most of the serious engines builders would never use a final machined part unless they knew exactly who did the job and they had the blue print report in hand.

Back in the day when the Gen 3’s were being used to power speed boats, an engine builder/machinist wanted to do his own head work but only had a 3 axis CNC mill.
I designed a jig and CNC program which would allowed for complete rotation of the head with static reference plane so that he could machine both sides of the head maintaining all geometric tolerances and not have to manually move the head and reset the cutting paths. The Jig also allowed for incremental swing to machine the seats for 3 face valves.

We also did the same for the bottom ends and started playing with billet intakes…….. then the yanks finally cracked the market with cheaper re-engineered parts.

Shit that sounds like fun SENATOR.!!

Just got an email back from celtic motorsport

Brand new EJ257 case halfs

Fully close decked

Delivered for $2k. Not bad for brand new.

He also said i have to run a 99.75 or 100mm pistons as the bore distorts and needs to be honed out.

Does that sound right?

Remember that the US set ups work really well (yes, i know their dynos run downhill) because they do so many packages. Old mate (buddy?) buys the same block they make with the same pistons and rods, running the same turbo and manifold ect and they just pop their usual base tune on and work from their. It gives the impression that these US built things are indestructible, but one must remember the sheer volume of sales/experience with their own product.
Now in saying that I am not bringing the cases you are buying into question, i think they will work fine for what you want, but I do think it is work getting it done locally just for the product support.

Ian.

Well said I agree with Ian. Piece of mind then if something goes wrong you can have local support!
