Nice, I didn't notice until you mentioned that the left was higher than the right. Its the kind of thing that'd annoy me now that I knew about it if it was my car, but prob more trouble than its worth to fix.

How do you find the volume? I've heard that the Q300 mufflers are quite loud

haha yeah pretty much the same conclusion, gassless mig is a PIA. yeah so have i, will let you know when the cars running and hopefully if i can source a gopro i may be able to do a video. Currently running EL headers, custom up-pipe, custom catless dump, 3' mid section without resonator and q300 muffs. Should be alright for day to day but highway trips may need to bring some ear muffs..

EDIT: i will just add while the q300 are physically quite a big muffler (they only just fit) there seems to be not much in the way of resonator and no baffles within the muffler

Interesting. Was this to allow more air for future FMIC?

always shav ;)

Alright guys need some help, spent a day trying to fit up the intercooler and turbo, all went well until the turbo bit. Seems as though the turbo is too big and i cannot rotate it enough before it hits the master cylinder.
Any experts know my solutions? is it probably easiest to purchase a compact master cylinder?

Could you look at an airbox/snorkel relocation and fit the turbo there with custom pipework? What if you fitted the turbo underneath the master cylinder and fitted a turbo blanket to reduce heat?

OR a mirror image of this Image

I actually do have an intake very similar to the one in the picture however is sits down lower and that is actually the reason i need the turbo to rotate more! The pipe work is all custom as is so it should fit but the turbo that was used on the previous owners setup was a garret 3076 which is slightly slimmer and cleared the master cylinder. Finding a smaller master cylinder would be cheaper that any useful fabrication i feel :/

I may take further photos for clarification

Yeah more R&D is required before you oxy torch anything. Obviously without being there it's hard to see whats best.

small update in the wait for a solution to above problem:
WRX sti 6mt kartboy shortshifter install

So i bought a second hand sti shifter, no bushings and the following install actualy took me near a week because i thought i was cool and could skip the under the car steps. My pain your gain. This subject is not new territory but i thought id reiterate a few points i got stuck on. The install is not complicated and i recommend it as sti sts seem to be more common second hand compared to liberties.

1. Jack up your car and keep it up!! ( i ended up doing it 3 or 4 times in lack of foresight)
2. remove your current gear stick assembly + plus cigarette lighter. (12mm spanner/shifter x2, straight q tip pliers, hammer, tiny screwdriver or allen key to remove lock pin)
3. remove bushings from old shifter and place in new shifter and insert new shifter into position (hammer, flat head screwdriver, CAREFUL!!)
4. You NEED to go under the car for this bit. On the passenger side of the gear box near halfway down the car remove the heat shield and fit the biggest allen key you can into the reverse lockout cam.
Image

5.Next step is making a spacer to fit, i used a bit of scrap aluminium tube i had and filed it down to fit. Fitting means that spacer allows lock pin hole on the cable to line up with bottom of gearstick slot (i used an allen key to measure things up)
Image

6. cable tie the excess cable (shifter is 1inch shorter) underneath the car with some JDM goodness so that it does not rub on the prop shaft.
Image

7. More jdm goodness to hold pieces in place. Holes on the boot are different between liberty and wrx but no biggy.
Image

8. Replace lock pins and trims etc in cabin and THEN remove allen key and replace heat shield underneath.

I found that perhaps the plastic holding the boot up may need a trim to drop it down because there is not much finger space between the collar.
Rough approximation of throw of new kartboy 6mt shifter:

While i just filed it down to fit, without measuring it was about 30-35mm from memory!
Inner diameter was 7mm but filed out to 8mm so it 'jammed' nicely onto the outer cable sheath :)
Id say in futur though if you wanted the tube to fit right down to the bottom you would need something closer to 12mm in diameter!
