I can use the laser cutters at uni.
3 x 3mm of something, then painted with a sealant and then finished in chrome.

Haha i'll make one, and if it turns out good ill smash a batch out.
the laser cutter can only take certain materials, 3mm solid timber is probably the best bet. 3 of those equals 9mm in thickness.
Once i figure out how to use the 3D printer ill be making all kinds of car shit
