Yeh it did.

BUT in RWD. So only 220 at all 4s i would say. So NO where near the power it should be an issue.

Also this is a std VF46 running 18psi, at peak power it was like 14psi.

My builder was like you could put another 10psi at peak power and it SHOULD be fine.!!

So i think its a case of something has just Fucked up hard.... And ive gotta deal with it.

Ahh! That makes sense now. E85 I assume...

No its pump 98

So it doesnt matter then.

Cause this current engine number is from an early 2.5 NA, some where near 96ish. And the engine number change went through all ok.

I just thought capacity might have an issue

Has your tuner or engine builder given you an opinion as to what the cause might be?

Were you confident your engine was well built and are you using the same builder again?

I remember your wife wasn't all that excited by your build plans last time it blew. How's she going this time round?

I'd be stripping it down and you will see what caused it and then point fingers, it will be easy to see if the sleeve has dropped

I sent logs to Matt on saturday just gone to fine tune some down low really light throttle . Nothing there.!

My builder said it sounds and looks bad at the moment as its pushing air HARD out the radiator.

He thinks its got a hole in the bore or block.

He is gunna fill the cooling system and pressure test it with a spark plug out to see what cylinder is leaking and then chuck a scope down it to see anything.

And the wife is ok, as this is a bit bad luck.... Not dumb ass Daniel.!! Ahhaha

Did they cryo the sleeves and insert them into block while cold..... with heaps of adhesive?
Did they leave the sleeves 2 thou proud of the deck....
Just asking ...

Bad luck, bad luck but builder must take some responsibility.

See this is where it comes into the Daniel Dumb Ass bit.

I bought the block off rexnet. It was already sleeved with NO machine work or decking done. Was told it was done a few years earlier and had big money thrown at it. It was sleeved and pinned . ( Dunno was pinned is ? )

So to answer your question....Dunno!!!

If its the block/bore its all on me as i supplied it to my builder. He sent it to the engineering/machine shop to get checked and pressure tested and it came back all good.

So will see in a few weeks when he pulls it out and apart.

Good luck, hope it's only a sleeve sunk (no damage) and needs to be redecked and new bearings....fingers crossed.

Dan? thanks for your open honesty and up to date feedback on this .....still hurting to whats happended to your car....I've been through engine bulids.....and thank tha gods I havent fallen victim to this....

I wanted to sleeve my block but due to my budget and some of the horror stories on sleeving I kinda left that option out....

Not wacking a stick at ya.... but you kinda farked up "taking a big risk on taking someone's word on the work that was maybe done? and not knowing exactly what the block went through( who did the work? receipts to prove the work was done? done by a someone/workshop worthy?..)

just cause big money was thrown at it doesnt mean shite.....and i know you did your homework before doing your engine......maybe it was a simple misjudgement of trust and taking someones word.....expensive lesson no doubt if this is the case...

....You should of gotten a 2nd / 3rd opinion ( not saying you builder doesnt know what he is doing ) I say this cause you have mentioned that you were on a strict build, wanted to get it right ...well.. one of the most important parts of the build...you kinda let the ball slip....learning lessons in life I guess....I know talking from experience I have fallen victim to the almost same thing ...hence why I went through engine builds...

All Tha Best and keep us all posted....

Yeh man looking back at it now. The block and it "work" was always gunna be the unknown.

The block got checked by the engineer/machinist prior to work being done. He has a plate/jig that he can pressure test the holding ability of water. But its more to test whether its fucked, not it will last a short time and fail sorta thing.!!

My Builder said from the get go, that block could be a weapon and strong as a ox. Or could be shit. So its the latter at this stage.

Jack will be uploading the Vids for me tonight so i can put the links here for the NON facebook user to hear and see.

Im waiting on the builder to do those last checks just to see if he can see the issue before we strip it down.

My wife has been really good with it actually, Saying shit happens and just happens to happen to me sometimes.

I did EVERYTHING i could within my budget to get this motor to be strong as possible. Hopefully the internals are fine (rods, pistons etc) and it might be a new block with honing etc etc and rebuild back together.

Im gunna start with a PROPER block this time tho. Go back to 2.0 and use what i have to do a stoker i think......

Whats the best block to start with?? RS fully closed deck block. Or a new 2.5 block and close deck and sleeve that ??

Suggestions needed.

It has always been for 300 Kw atw all day everyday on pump. Rail hail or shine, thrash and then cruise with the kids.

Want it to be built for 400 kw and run it at 300kw.
