I think it's a mixture of E85, heat and age. The headers were OEM TS equal length ones (so just mild steel) and my custom up pipe was done with steam pipe, I think the track days definitely contributed to the cracks though.

Now I'm using the best headers on the market (you should see how thick the flanges are) and reinforced the welds on the custom up pipe -> external wastegate -> T28 flange

Edit - holy shit, that's a lot of work just to "upgrade" to another stock setup...

Reply to edit - yeah, WTF it's a hell of a cost, especially given that it only resulted in 140 odd kw IIRC - could have done better with a tune on the stock turbo.
Headers, up pipe, turbo, dump pipe, turbo rotated, silicon pipe to intercooler and fitting would have run at least 5k (at the time, and I assume they were new or near new) for an SFA gain. The only thing I can think of is that they were either insane, or parted out the exhaust and other bits and put the tune back to stock to sell it.

The good news is that should I want to upgrade the turbo (which at this point I don't) there's a bunch of easy bolt on options, however, more than 220kw I'd be thinking about some engine work (at least studs).

Some of you may remember my unfinished business with the factory GTB brakes after my last track day.

Hopefully I can stop this time!

Better than nothing... But if you are serious about your lap records...

One of these:
http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_ ... ucts_id=66
With the appropriate sensor mounted to eg the stone guard or caliper etc. and using the alarm output to trigger the washer bottle water pump redirected to a water dribbler (metal pipe last 30cm) just inside the rear of the rotor hat :)
The Willall system also utilizes a low speed cutout, eg the system wont activate under a certain kph.

Use a master switch on the system for safety of course!

It absolutely works... As long as the water lasts

Hopefully these calipers will clear your glamor rims???

Since you're gonna cook them, I'd recommend thermal dispersant black or grey like the lotus rears :P
