Well Adam you want to hope you have access to p100 at all times !

Yeah I looked into that newbie. I can go anywhere in coastal nsw and get p100, didnt check outside of nsw. But I can still use 98ron if I have to. Just have to take it easy until I get more p100.

I compaired the old dyno graph to the new one last night to check the improvement in spool up time. Its way more than i expected. It hits peak boost around 300rpm sooner now, and im 1 pound of boost higher at all points in the rev range leading up to peak boost. MSR's dyno isnt giving accurate power readings at the moment, but id assume the boost pressure readings would have still been accurate :?

Depends on the tune and what you call fine? The afr itself will run leaner, you'll get "better" fuel economy and on a really hot day you may see some knock if you give it hell... however it will be fine taking it easy and more than fine off boost.

Oh and...Congratulations Adam :D Looking sweet.

Thanks Alexei!
Yeah Michael said the same thing.. fine to use off boost and just to take it easy until its almost 100% P100 again. But also said he would only do it if i had no other options.

O2 sensor will adjust the AF#1 Learning by going 'blue' to correct it and then the 3rd AF#1 range carries over into spool on a decay timer. Obviously that 3 degrees of timing is the issue with S#, so you would use Intel and minimal Sport, avoid S# on 98 etc

Good thinking Matt.. driving it in intelligent mode when using 98 would be the way to go :)
I should add i hope i never have to use 98... would be an absolute emergency only!

Your build gave me some inspiration, and funnily enough before I purchased my vf52. I did a google search of pics to see the similarities of a vf46 and the 52. A picture came up with your username and a link to another Subaroo forum. So upon realising that you had a build thread on ASN, that I had already read, I went back through it again hoping for better turbo views. I found some good info and pics then took off to pick up my vf52. :D

Wow. Great to know something ive wrtten has helped someone!
If id known sooner that you were considering buying a vf52 I could have taken you for a run in my car first. But I cant stress enough, you wont be disappointed!!! I only gained 13kw peak power with the vf52, but it felt like soooo much more through the whole rev range. It pulls so much harder!

Got a new windscreen today after failing my pink slip due to a crack in it... lets see how long I can go with a stone chip... my guess is 1 month.
