One hundred thousand kilometre service complete!

Timing belt kit
Water pump and gasket
Thermostat
Spark plugs
Engine oil and filter
Coolant
Clutch fluid
Brake fluid
Power steering fluid
Power steering belt
A/C belt
Front rotors machined
Silicone radiator hoses

She's feeling great to drive. Mostly the same as before but those fresh rotors feel excellent under foot!

i saw one of your posts over on MCM a while back that you have been buying parts/oils every so often...

gave me the idea to do the same!

im just curious morgan, did you know how much of certain liquids you needed to get? ie brake fluid, gear/diff oil etc...
i've been looking through my owners manual and it only has the amounts for coolant and engine oil

Cheers, Simon

You didn't look hard enough Simon. Section 12-7 in the owners manual lists gearbox, rear diff & power steering capacities.

Buy 1ltr of brake fluid to be on the safe side.

I got my fluid measurements from Supercheap (where I bought the stuff) but I can't remember now sorry. G knows what's happening though - try that!!! I do know that 5L of gearbox/diff oil would've covered it (it's the same oil).

Turns out my gearbox/diff oil looked brand new so didn't even need to change that. Brake and clutch fluid was the only fluids i didn't supply so not sure of that either. I supplied one bottle of PS fluid which was all used up and one large jug of coolant concentrate with some left over.

It's a good idea to accumulate all the parts hey. I know $900 worth of parts would've hurt pretty bad but doing it over 3-4 months was nothing.

Thanks Morgan :D i've got a few little bits and pieces so far, but over the next few pay days (or hopefully use my tax refund) im going to purchase the liquids and mechanical parts i need

but it definitely seems a lot easier on the wallet to spread it all out rather than in one big hit straight up, because then all your paying for is the labour!

Thanks again guys :D

Successful day today with installing a fire extinguisher.

Bought the FE and a length of metal from Bunnings. Cut the metal to size ready to bung up a bracket.

Added a few bends as to clear the pass side floor design and a few holes. 2 for securing it to the passenger seat and 2 for the FE holder.

Gave it a few coats of black and one final coat of clear.

All screwed together.

Into the car :)

Very happy with it! Especially with the fact that the seat still has the ability to slide right over the top of it :)

Just skimmed the thread. car looks great, very neat mods!

Sad about the accident, have you got that sorted yet?

Slightly off topic RE: fluid capacities. Rear diff 0.8L. Front diff 1.8L. Engine oil with filter change 4.5L. Automatic transmission 4.5L. Manual transmission and front diff 3.8L. Powersteering fluid 1L. Brake fluid 500ml. Clutch fluid 200ml. Coolant 5L. Or close to that... lol.

^^ Great info re fluids!

Cheers for the positive comments.

@Dropz, unfortunately I haven't fixed up the body damage yet. Other things have taken priority like the 100k service, rego/CTP, new tyres will be purchased for the 18s the next few weeks and a snow trip ;)
