What sort of gain does a front mount give. Does the cooler air just improve the ability to drive harder for longer, or is there a power gain too?

MIldly more lag and throttle response but the torque can still be as high as stock. When the throttle opens, more air volume is sucked down as there is more volume of air before the FMIC core available but you lose the instant boost response.

More flow = more power once it is on boost, you can run less boost to make the same power.

Had them in the garage taking up space for months!

If you're going for a 'fuel specific' tune, why not just go for e85?

Edit: FMIC ftw :D

Well theres no e85 stations close to me or the places I go.. theres a united near my house and pretty much every united has P100 now. Much more common than e85. I would go e85 if it was common for sure!! Did you get a front mount Ryan?

Good point. My old place used to almost back onto the united near your place so I know what you mean...we need more e85 on the north side!!

Yeah I got a plazmaman flipped core FMIC setup from g88 so it doesn't interfere with the fog lights. Core, piping and hoses all black.

As Matt said, it's basically a bolt on - just with the std airbox in the way, but if you're have a cai....

Bang for buck headers would be pretty similar. Mick likes headers

But in my opinion?.....

Do both
Running no. of weeks without breaking something in the lib: 0
No. of things still to fix in in the lib: 97

Hmmmmmmmm... damn you guys!!

I think im going to pass though. I live in one of the busier parts of sydney and its hard enough to hit boost in the traffic now without adding more lag. Dare I say it, im going to sacrifice power for responsiveness :o

I agree, the autos are sluggish as they are anyway.
You notice additional lag in the autos big time.

Well today was re-tune day.... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand the results aren't in :(

I have an MSR approximation and my own bum dyno reading but thats it for now. Mick's dyno isnt giving correct readings at the moment due to some hard drive issue... he did tell me what the issue was but i started to glaze over at that point haha.

Before the tune the car had 194kW. Mick was able to add 3 degrees of timing and half a pound of boost, which is way more than he expected the car to take. After Mick drove it he described it as a weapon, which is a huge compliment coming from someone like Mick. And he said he would comfortably say the car is easily over 200kW now. Mick has new software and was able to add a lot more features (not sure what they were), but some of them were safety features of some kind.

To drive, the car is all round improved. The power delivery feels smoother, and of course its now stronger!! Aside from gaining power with the P100 tune, he said its actually a safer fuel to run as it is less likey to knock.

I also had my anti-lift kit and sway bars installed today... he put the front and rear sways on the hardest settings and i can only barely notice a rougher ride. Im glad he put them on the hardest as the handling improvements will be epic!! Its been drizzling all day in sydney so i havent had a chance to test out the handling properly, but judging by the lack of body roll, it can only be good :D

Nah I'm on soft f&r, then I'd go hard front/soft rear, and then all out :)
I've been lazy and just left it all as Trutrack set it all up a year ago... :P
But this is the joy of these Lego/Meccanno construct-a-supercar... You get to play :)

Here's Michael's (MSR) description of the improvements from the P100 tune and his new tuning maps.

"Changes will make the boost come on sooner, more boost response, more power across full rpm range, and still be ok on fuel."

I was wondering if I was imagining the improvement in responsiveness... but it turns out I wasn't. It really is incredible to drive now!!

Yeah Newbie, boost coming on sooner means less lag. Mind you we're not talking 500rpm here, its only just noticeable.
