I've just settled on WRX 17x8J wheels and will probably pick them up tonight :)

You haven't lowered the car yet have you? I'll upload pictures once I have them fitted and have the car washed. You should consider lowering your car first before getting any new wheels - I've got a set Tein Street Flex alraedy fitted.

Congrats! They are a nice wheel, and I think they suit the Lib very well whilst keeping a conservative (police wise) car.

Lowering is already sorted, BC BR coilovers will be in by Saturday afternoon :)

Awesome. I probably won't get around to installing the wheels til February haha ...I need to clean off all the splatted insects with clay and paint cleaner from my last road trip. I'm also overdue for a polish and wax. I ought to take a few 'before' photos!

Keep the posts and photos coming!

Put up a build thread! There aren't many 2.5i threads to browse and get ideas from :(

Next pics will be early next week now, coilovers were delayed.

With the coilovers, I have also purchased a 12" sub and 4 channel amp that will be going in. After that the CA and sway bar bushes will be replaced and this car will be for sale most likely... :(

Don't sell, keep her till you can get an unrestricted license then go to town!

You can make your car a fast machine, maybe not in a straight line but with the right suspension package, it will be quick through the twisties

Yeah, I could make it a quick car in the turns but I would like a bit more power for towing and the like.
Plus with it's value I really would be over capitalizing on it substantially with my plans (especially now that my new job allows for it better than casual work around school haha).

I never drove the H6, just went as a passenger. From the passenger seat I was underwhelmed but I will test drive one in the coming weeks and decide whether it's worth selling my car knowing it has no other problems, and getting a H6 or something else or keeping the 2.5i.

1) Buy the 3.0
2) Get a tune
3) Forget your original experience in a 3.0 and just smile

I did the above, and have forgotten about the sluggishness and lack of torque at low revs, because post-tune is completely different

The car I rode in was tuned with a full exhaust. Still was underwhelmed. A 350Z would wipe a H6...

You're right, the 350Z would own a 3.0R but $$$$….

A 350Z doesn't have the practicality of a 3.0R either, particularly in wagon form..

Do wankers buy them?

The practicality is the thing. I have turned off them as I can't get a bike in the car, roof racks aren't available and I certainly can't tow a jet ski with one. Like any car, wankers buy them. You see wankers in Liberty's, I don't care because I'd like to think I'm not a wanker

What I am tossing up is whether it's worth the $5k step over into a car that, at this stage, doesn't seem much more special than my 2.5. A wagon may be more practical though.

So as some saw on Facebook on Monday, the coilovers are in.

All I can say is wow, the car is completely different. I was quite skeptical when I saw everyone say that coilovers are the best mod for a Lib, but I am happy to be proven wrong. It's worth every dollar and more.

Could anyone give me some dampening rates to try? I am scrubbing on the inner guard on bumps at the moment :(
