Im liking the approach you've taken with this Ben. Nice job.

What did your old BOV sound like when it vented?
Cheers

Even though it would have been perfectly safe to do so... I never did!

Its kinda cool all that inlet noise, but just not my cuppa I guess...

The res will have to go eventually to make way for the waterspray bottle so I may get some induction sound from that since I'm planning a flexible diaphragm to cover the hole, a passive resonator...

The later model Spec C, from GVB (2012) I think, have a waterspray bottle mounted in the spare wheel well. If you don't mind losing your spare that could be an option to save engine bay space.

Unless Benny is planning on using a cai, the resonator area is a very smart place to stick the bottle, heaps of unused space, probably the best shielding from the engine heat available

IMO it's genius.... now let's see how you make the filling process work, Ben!

No. of things still to fix in in the lib: 97

It is because I got the idea from Brainy :)
Use a wagon washer bottle for the 2x pumps and the long neck for refills (under the air scoop)...
The neck requires trimming the stock airbox: got a spare ready to be cut and glued.
And thanks for the tip Adrian, I might use that space for a back up reservoir :)

Doesn't necessarily have to be a Spec C one but the concept is a good one. Saves the extra weight being added to an already forward loaded area. If I were you Ben and with the thought you've put into your mods I'd be thinking about weight distribution as a fine detail.

Appropos of which I recently sold the 12L spec C tank I had fantasized about fitting to the rear seat back.
Things were getting out of hand :P
I'm happy to say its new owner is fitting it into a gc8 track car.

Fitting it to the seat back will mean you can't split the seats and it'll also limit load space. Then there's the visual factor of people seeing it there and thinking the car might be worth stealing and stripping. That's why I'd be going with something mounted underfloor. You don't really need a spare these days around town with the amount of product available to rectify the problem. It also keeps the weight lower and wouldn't be a penalty as you've deleted the spare.

I had a completely unique idea to mount a gravity-feed backup reservoir in the spare wheel well.
If you brake hard enough it refills the bottle in the drivers side front guard...
I think a wine cask bladder might do the trick.

Were you drinking from said wine cask at the time?

You'd have to use a quality cask wine as the cheap ones may not cut it. Finding the right bladder could be difficult. :bad:

Thinking 20L catering pack size :P
Now to search for low level sensors...

But more realistically, can any guru's out there help me choose nozzles and check valves?
Any advice most welcome.

Garden variety?
OEM STi type?
Or just use the single enormous brass job that came with the kit?

I posted in another thread about changing my fuel supplier: here's the full story.

Back in the day we bought our very first home in Sackville St, Collingwood... right next door to a fiercely independent traditional garage and service station Little Sams.
Sam Quadara is a genuine Collingwood legend, operating from that site for over 30 years, actually fixing cars with his son John and his numerous apprentices, not just "changing parts".

Sam's fuel is supplied by an independent, direct from the refinery, formerly by "Midnight Mick" who was (sotto voce) "as dodgy as they come (adding ethanol to standard to make "premium"), this is 30 years ago mind you" and presently by Midnight Mick's son, who is anything but.

The reason for this is that Sam runs a "$30K+ built outboard motor" on his speedboat and demands the very best premium fuel for this and his V8 daily/towcar, "or else you're paying for it" and Sam's greasy knarled paws come forward in a grabbing choking gesticulation.

I mentioned I was using BP98 because the additives were milder than the Shell blend and he retorted: "there's only 2 refineries, Mobil and Shell, you're getting your fuel from either, but mostly from Shell because its usually cheaper".

So his fuels are "straight from the refinery, no additives".
I'd say this opens the opportunity to run Subaru Fuel Additive more regularly and continue to put 1/3 can of UEC in the fuel (along with 1/3 can in the oil and the last third in the inlet mani) before oil changes. (see the pre tune list for links to the correct procedure)

Mr W, the furnishings magnate up the street, uses Sam's petrol in his supercars: based on dyno testing or track times his Fezza, "one of four in the country" was marginally more powerful than the others, presumably because of the fuel.

Anyhow the authorities barged in one day and demanded to test the petrol, even the "staler" of the two tanks came up trumps, being only a point or two of octane below par, regardless these days he keeps all tanks regularly topped up and fresh.

Needless to say, Sam loves a chat and I'm sure if you drop in to grab a tank he'll tell you some more about it all, that is, if he's not elbow deep in a repair or six.
The main advantage for me is having an account and after hours access to a local supply of quality fuel that's out of the mainstream loop and a little less expensive as a bonus.

Meanwhile Little Sam's Garage's other claim to fame is being used as a location in Oct 2013 for Beyonce's "No Angel" video:

Are you using them? (probably already asked you this a while back)

How many?

Where did you mount them, on the splitter?

I know Tuspeed has them in stock usually or available online ;)
