Without getting into semantics, this is a 1000hp capable turbo

That's roughly equivalent to 1000cfm at its peak efficiency / pressure ratio of circa 4 (yes yes I know these dont have published compressor maps but I'm working on its closest cousin the garret 4088

So working backward, if he can keep it away from surge at 15 psi, this equates to a pressure ratio of 2 ([14.5+15]14.5), at which point this puppy would be pushing around 45lb/min of air in its mean efficiency at that level.

This is roughly converted to 600cfm

Using general formula of either 10hp per lb/min of airflow or cfm to hp (assuming VE of 150% and peak power at 7000rpm), this would equate to around 450flywheel hp or 360awhp, which is roughly equal to 270awkw

Sounds fkn fun ;)

Don't u think that's a bit big? Like u going to rev it out past 8? Cause it might take a but to boost even with your low mount

I do think it is a bit big. It should see 20 psi by 4500. Well that turbo was on a set up with bigger cams prior to going on my car. Also look at my dyno graphs with the 20g on the 2.0. Full boost at 5200 or something fun. Way I see it will have another 500cc to play with off boost too.

Some issues to work through with the turbo. Seems to be leaking oil. We shall see what can be done, otherwise might downgrade to a smaller precision. 6262 or 6266.

Not sure. But it will take time to fix, and I am kind of keen to get it back on the road. Not too happy that the big one is pooey, but not point being upset.

6262 is ever so slighty bigger than a 3582. Seppos love giving inducer sizes. The 62 compressor is 62mm inducer and 83mm exducer. The 3582 is 58mm inducer 82mm exducer. The big unit had minimal use on another car. It seems the seals in it are spent.

A 6262 or6266 is far better suited to this probably still have the same top end just easier to get on boost
