They were mentioning things like he plays around with the numbers to make the cars "feel" like they shift crisper and quicker without any actual benefit. Mick's time down the quarter mile proves this wrong.

Also, interesting to note that Mick's time is 4th fastest on the legacygt all time fastest list...

mustnt be many fast libertys/legacys over their

Well it's pretty much the equal fastest time posted on our forum too so that's saying something...not including DeMobBoss who dropped into the 11s didn't he?

Link to which one? The one where I made the post? Or the one with their fastest times?

where you made the post

Gambit ran a 12.2 remember? It's in that power thread with the excel spreadsheet and everyone's dyno results and quarter mile times.

EDIT: I stand corrected, your time is actually the fastest documented time on this forum, Gambit ran 12.46: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=16387&hilit=asn+power

Haha

First gear launch off the line feels like the chassis is gonna twist !! Its an awesome feeling

Was wheelspinning hard off the line and maybe I've gotten used to the power already but I'm not noticing the throwing back in the seat feeling as much anymore

do you think the auto with the tuning you do makes the car a little faster down the qtr than say an manual?

The pump fuel tune ran 16.5psi :)
E85 tune is running 19psi at peak power :)

Auto has an advantage but if the DBW system allows gearshifts to occur easier then even 0.2 seconds on the 1/4 is, well... 0.2 seconds :)

That's the next mission matt once you're fully recovered

Improve shift on 1st to 2nd, improve lock up at top end of 3rd gear (slipping slightly after 6000rpm), and remove boost cut in fourth gear

If we can nail those things, thats easy 0.3 of a second to get us into the 11s hopefully!!

Do-able??

Re: MY04 Liberty GT - FrankenStien updated 05/09/2012

indicative 0-100km/h time based on a quadratic equation:

t, sec d, ft
0 0 0 - 60 time: 3.69 sec
1.740 60 0-60 dist: 199 feet
5.030 330 1/8 Speed: 89 MPH
7.780 660

-0.408707213 12.22700959

The calculations are based on a fit of the timeslip data to a quadratic equation for distance as a function of time

Pretty spot on actually - as it figured out the 1/8mph and end 1/4 mile time from the details i input (0-60 ft, 330ft and 660ft)

First and foremost.... Congrats and well done on solid numbers power wise but 1/4 mile times too.

How do you get it to launch hard off the line in the auto?? Has Matt done some sort of stall converter situation tune of the control module of the box??

And ive been a passenger in a few 12 sec cars and driven my brother sr20det datsun 1600 with 300 rwkw and thats a 12 sec easy and they have all been ssssssoooooooo much fun. None have been auto tho, so would be interesting to feel a 12 possibly 11 sec awd auto!!!

Good work
Not a Subaru...... Something MUCH better

NOPE..... That's shit too. Bus anyone??

Thanks for the kind words Daniel

Mate your brother's datto sounds like a beast. Easy 12's with traction

In terms of my car, absolutely stock auto untouched unopened. Matt's tune relates to the ecu.

The 5eat liberties come with a pretty large stall from factory at 3000rpm. Its a lock-up type Convertor (which means it's not on and off like old school auto Convertors), and thus why I could launch at 3200.

There's a few driving tricks to getting my turbo on boost to be able to launch at 3200 but yeah it's not rocket science - just takes some minor understanding of how the auto works with the turbo setup you have
