I've just ordered this:

http://www.forgemotorsport.com/content. ... uct=FMWRX3

It is to replace the Turbosmark Kompact - unfortunately the Turbosmart is a fraction too tall when placed on the Process West TMIC, and the Forge is just a fraction shorter. It also comes with a variety of springs to help tune its performance.

Does it clear the bonnet bracing without modifcation?

My understanding from research is that yes, it does. I'll confirm, it once I receive it. :)

Or even better a bonnet made from top mount ;)

As I said to shav, make a bonnet out of your top mount :lol:

It's not technically a mod, but I gave the car a good wash today.

* Rinse.
* Snow foam.
* Rinse.
* Snow foam again.
* Rinse.
* Microfibre mitt wash (2 bucket method).
* Rinse.
* Clay bar (wow did it need it).
* Rinse.
* Dry with waffle-weave microfibre towel.

Was going to use Opti-Seal, but couldn't find it. Turns out a mate has it, and has broken the bottle, so he's buying me a bottle of replacement sealant of some kind. Now to decide what it will be... :)

Even without a polish or using sealant, the car looks great at present - the paint feels smooth as glass.

Another mate has a random orbital polisher, so we're arranging a detailing weekend. :)

Absolutely. Leaving the paint "bare" isn't good for it. Just need to decide which sealant I'll use, and grab it.

The car will be garaged until that point.

Cool. Have you tried Driven Marine Polish? http://www.driventoperfection.com/produ ... ine-polish

Ive used it on a number of cars and friends cars and it's been awesome as a sealant.

No, I haven't tried that one. Maybe next time (I've ordered Duragloss). :)

I fitted my Forge BPV today.

It came with the blue (23psi - something higher) spring installed, I swapped it for the yellow (15psi - 23psi) spring.

Fitting wasn't an issue, nor should it be. :)

In good news for those with PW TMICs, it is shorter than the TurboSmart Kompact by about 5mm - enough that it would completely clear the bonnet I suspect (regardless, mine was notched already to give the Kompact breathing room).

I haven't driven the car since the change (I did it this evening after I got home), I will know how it is behaving tomorrow.

One thing for anyone with an aftermarket BPV/BOV to note - the Forge requires that you have the OEM BPV gasket (the Kompact has its own, which is different). I keep all my OEM parts, so I had mine at hand, but if you've thrown yours out, you'll need to deal with this.
