Hahah... Yep... Cheers Phat... "You told me so"... and you were right... about the Walbro and as it turns out, the TMIC as well!

I did enquire originally on the PW kit from Kevin, as I've had his gear on my previous cars and always been very happy with it, but as no-one could confidently say this kit would fit, I didn't fork out, and in fact, I don't think this kit was available when I first enquired anyway. :?

Anyway, no big deal, I have managed to sell on most things and hopefully won't have taken much of a hit financially trying the different things... So it's all learning, and at least I know a fair bit more about it all and what fits etc! :D

Will be modifying the stock injectors, as I have done in the past a number of times with excellent results. :)

OK... I'm heading into a pretty busy couple of months for work, so I'm making the most of a slightly quieter Monday arvo, and filling you kids in... I'm also a tad excited about this!

I sold the GT just over 2 weeks ago now, and have been trundling around in my mother-in-law's C180 which, although I am very grateful for the lend, is hardly an excitement machine. I have been looking at both the 08+ STi hatch and Evo X as my next ride, and conveniently, when the Liberty sold, there was bugger all of either on the market. :(

As it turned out though, shortly after I said goodbye to the Lib, an opportunity to purchase a great condition Evo X at a very reasonable price was dropped on my doorstep, and after a quick drive and a look over the car, I was pretty convinced!...
For the record, I have spent a bit of time in these cars, working at DVG for the last ~5 years, so I knew how good they are...

The seller needed a bit of time to get a few things organised from his end, hence the delay, but I am pretty stoked to be picking up my 2010 Evo X GSR tomorrow! :D

It's the TC-SST in Cool Silver, which I was not originally too keen on, but after talking to a few friends who own cars with the same or similar DSG gearboxes, given the car will be a daily driver and do a lot of highway km's/traffic jam's, I decided that the auto was definitely the way to go...

It's pretty well as it came from the factory... except a complete de-badge of the boot, and CF vinyl overlayed roof... But I'm sure there will be changes fairly soon after I get my hands on it! (It's a disease... :( ) :p

Anyway... I'll wait until it's on my driveway to post up a photo of the actual car, but this is essentially what it is:

Wait... ;)

take 2(RHD and big spoiler... but you get the idea):

P.S - Feel free to hate on me for joining the dark side etc... I'd do it to you if it was the other way around! ;)

you're gonna regret it, bouncing around in that butter box in the field instead of your comfy liberty.

serves you right, that's what we'll all say when you come crying about your bitsamissun

so, how was that...good rant, mate?

dibs on a ride in it when you get it...ha, ha

Bwahaha... Laurie... Gold... :D

It is a step in a different direction, but to be honest... It's much the same decision I made when I had the B4... Bought the GT thinking it would be the family car, and still be fun to drive... Then it eventuates that it's really not used as a family car, so I start tinkering around with things... get it to a stage where I can either go all out or just try and hang in there... and then I start to think about other options... and it all spirals from there! ;)

At the end of the day, the Liberty was a fantastic car, and I really loved having it, and the mods I did turned it into a really fun car to drive!... But to go further with it, I feel like I would have had to really go all out, and that would take away from the car it was designed to be... as apparently I still want the 'rally car' feel despite my old age... ;)

Anyway... The Evo is a different sort of animal!... It has it's creature comforts, although it's the first car without leather I've owned in 6 years or so... it does have the magic key thingy, bluetooth kit built in, cruise/stereo controls on the wheel.. plus the twin-clutch paddle shift fancy-pants transmission! So I think I'll be happy in there for a while! 8)

Picking her up tonight at 6pm... so will post some pics when that happens... or maybe even start a new thread... just to keep this one about the Lib! :)

Hey Jimmy,

Its sad to see your black obp gt gone. i remember always looking on your page for ideas and how awesome it looked and how id like mine to look like that haha.

I think the change to the evo is a good change, you have my thumbs up. Since you have had wrxs in the past, its a good direction to be heading in. Im keen as well as eager to see the car!

Evo Xs are a different from the usual crop of the other evos, aesthetically and what not. Everyone always says the evos are faster than the sti's, so im sure you will let me know haha.

PICS!!!!!!!!!

Knowing you, you will mod the car nicely and keep it looking very schmick. Congratulations on the sale of your car and i cant wait to see what you have planned for the evo!

Cheers dude... 24 hours in and I'm loving the car!... Gotta say, the fuel economy makes the Liberty seem like a Hyundai getz... but that maybe because I'm enjoying pushing the car a touch more than I would normally do so! ;)

Couple of pics of her tucked up in my garage... Will get some better pics when this completely un-perth-like weather clears up! :D
