Got a pair of those "Ebay special" weathershields and fitted them up.

They look sweet - not quite Genuine quality, but happy that there are no warps and they feel pretty sturdy. Wind noise has increased ever so slightly, but doesn't worry me since you can't hear it once the stereo is on anyway.

This is an update which should have happened last weekend...

Finally hit 200k. I reckon she's doing very well for a 6 year old

Image

Anyway, my drivers side foglight bulb was blown. I hardly ever use my foggies anyway so rather than replacing the globe...I took the whole foglight out. Because race car.

Put together a bit of scrap piping and bits from Bunnings, and voilà!

Image

Image

The original plan was to route the piping next to the foglight but as you can see in the photo below, I'd need to cut a whole in the bumper which I didn't want to do (YET...might be in the pipeline if I want both foggies again). Also, the foglight grille would need have holes drilled into it.

Image

Image

The end result - when I have my window down, I can hear more turbo whistle and slightly more induction noise. Not worried about having one foglight because I never use them and my car is usually too low for people to be noticing my foggies anyway

Bloody good job Nathan, great ingenuity shown here  . What have u used as the filter piece at the start of the pipework.

Ive been thinking of how to do mine. With the SC I have a pod filter in the inner guard. Was thinking of using flexible convoluted hose, 100mm or so, will see when I have
a closer look with the fog out.

 Maybe u and I could use a piece of mesh or the like to place at the front of the fog grille and stick the mesh in there with a small amount of black sikaflex.
Probably never see the sikaflex down that low.
Then do a copy and intergrate it in to the left side fog grille. Might still look stock. GL with it dude.

Nice work, do you know what diameter pipe that was? I want to run some 2.5" brake ducting for the track and mounting it right up to the fog light surrounds would definitely beat having it sticking out the bottom of the car...

Cheers Grant!

I just used a "bug mesh grille" which are already made to slip straight onto PVC pipes - used in downpipes/drainpipes. Got it from Bunnings for about $3 - looks something like this (link)

Good idea actually :) I was wondering how I could make the two sides match up slightly more. I was thinking a silver mesh with a bulge to sort of look like the foglight lens. I might try one or the other, or both!

Gained +10 street cred immediately after foggy removal.

Ahh damn, busted! I must have just kept it on after testing that the other foglight worked (after the other one was already out). Must have had a few funny looks from people

I'm pretty sure it was 90mm which I used. ( might have to double check that) 90mm pipe fits perfectly in the foglight gap and nicely behind the opening in the foggy grille. Brake ducting through there would be awesome :good:

Oh youre probably a good person to ask, Daniel, because you've probably done it - did you chop out that bit of bumper which sits under the foggy grille/next to the foggy? (seen on the second last pic)
If you did, was there any extra bumper flex/sag?

Got myself a beautiful knob.
I love it! Smaller than what I thought it would be but it's so nice in the palm of my hand.... (when shifting!  )

It's a genuine STI Titanium 6 Speed Gear Knob. P/N: C1010FE100

I have a small problem though. Unsure where to put my gear shift pattern (covers my ass if a meticulous policeman wants to inspect the vehicle)
I'm considering these two positions... I'm leaning more towards the first pic. Thoughts?

I had the exact same mod on my intake, except I kept the fog light and modified the grill to make if flow through (grind the grill cut outs), it was a larger surface area to draft more air.
