The tuner noticed clutch starting to slip on the Dyno a couple of weeks ago. Until then it was only the initial smell that I noticed. There was definitely a fault with the clutch from the factory so I am not sure how long a non-faulty clutch would of held out with these mods. My tuner tells me the clutch should definitely handle it.. But I have heard so many different opinions since.. Only time will tell I guess.. I will have to head back up in a week or so to get the final tune.. I am still hoping for a bit more power (another 15 - 20kW) out of this set up. I was quoted about $1,200 for a heavy duty clutch (installed), so if it goes again I will go the HD option. I have had the car about 16 months, so if the clutch starts to slip again it will probably take a while. I guess its something that you can prepare for but don’t really have to worry about until it starts to slip. While the standard clutch is working fine a HD one is not going to make any difference to the performance of the car. Can do some research and put some money aside, car can be in and out of workshop in the same day when/if it's needed..

How is the spool up with the gtpumps? Any lag compared to standard turbo?

About 500 RPM lag compared with stock turbo. Definitely worth it tho.

Yeah, I am trying to decide between a VF52 and a gtps02tm. I know the gtps will have heaps more top end but don't really want to give up too much low and mid range.

With the TDO05-20G my car has now got way too much power then I can use on most roads, especially in the city and built up areas. I am simply not able to plant my foot to the floor 95% of the time I am in my car now.. But it is still completely drivable through the city, I very rarely need to push the RPM's past 3000 and its already going too damn quick.. I guess in the Blue Mountains you have the good roads and more room to move about them tho  I will see if I can get the most recent before & after (with new fuel pump) dynos on the same chart to compare the two.

Which mechanic do you use? I am on the Gold Coast too but letting Chiptorque and/or Pete @ Allstar in Currumbin do all my work as they took care of my last Lib.

Car sounds awesome but has your tuner mentioned the limits of power before strengthening internals?

I use OPM Sport in Toowoomba. He is only the tuner though, so he gets the mechanics next door to do the mechanical work. I am trying to find a good tuner (with all-wheel drive dyno) closer to home (Currumbin Valley)..

Anything upwards to 250kW ATW is starting to push the friendship with regards to stock internals..

I've put a halt to my mods for now as i am going to an auction at the end of the month for a home but if i miss out on that, I will see if Chiptorque (Nerang) can perfom well in the tuning dept and let you know. Will save you a hell of a lot of driving for a tune, lol.

Hello everyone - I am a new member today. I have an My07 Liberty Sti tuned Wagon 6sp with an MRT XB kit (3 inch turbo back exhaust and EcuTek with custom tune). I am currently running ATW 169KW and 5100N drive force on STI Melbourne dyno. Started out with Vin reflashing my ECU and getting me from 128KW to 140KW ATW and around 3600N drive force. I had come from owning v8's and initially it appeared slugish. A lot better after Vin looked at it initially mainly on torque.

I want the next stage of power improvements and have been looking around at power kits. I have talked to MRT, HPF, AVO, and a couple of other and basically they tell me (Upgrade - turbo, TMIC, Cold air intake, Inlet pipe, fuel pump upgrade, some say injectors) and I will make around 200 - 205KW ATW dyno dynamics dyno. Incidently converting drive force to torque I found that roughly dividing by 14.1 brings you close (derived from websites giving both figures - seemed fairly consistent). Does anyone have an actual conversion reference.

I am interested in getting an understanding of where you finally ended up on these mods and talking to you directly. If you are able to text your phone number to my mobile 0408939874 I would appreciate any time you can give me.

I have been told that the piston and conrods are a limitation on our EJ255 engines but am interested to here what others have heard. Basically it is very difficult to identify what the differences are between EJ257 (Imp STI engine), and changes to the EJ255 (liberty versus WRX motor) Is this listed anywhere on the website?
