Re: Member Profile - JSLAYZ - KILLED STOCK MOTOR

Postby jslayz » Mon Mar 11, 2013 10:10 pm

Stock motor decided to blow yesterday.

Suspected head gasket coolant leak with all the coolant going into a cylinder on intake and locking up the motor....or some other catastrophic fubar event.

Now to fastrack the built motor.... :D

Gonna be without a car for a bit so have to hire one, bet I get a POS through work....

One day and still in withdrawal of the lib.

It decided to blow or you decided to blow it? Haha awfully suspicious time for a motor to blow, especially while a brand new built one happened to be in the works ;) Haha.

Naaah, timing of this is 8 weeks too early, so many parts are out getting balanced, ported etc.
So its a real bummer to have it happen now.

MIL was driving it back from a BBQ, no booting or anything, just pop, hiss, steam, pull over & dead.

Will post up what the findings are....no idea why, was running beautiful on way to BBQ.

Sorry to hear mate

Bit similar to my story - had bought the other motor in anticipation of mine coming out about two weeks or so after it actually had blown but fate had it that way

Good luck with the build in the meantime man I'm sure it will be a beast
