In other news I'm making progress on my sound installation

If my frankenSti was frankestein enough, this is what I've now had to do:

- the mcintosh unit I bought was damaged and unrepairable. I now regret selling the one out of the parts car but oh well
- the amp was ok

So I went on the hunt for another and couldn't find one

Today however I came across something almost as good. A kenwood mp3 / wma capable 6 stacker from a 2006 Subaru outback

It also has an aux input cable which wasn't in the donor car I got it from but I had the aux cable from the mcintosh I bought above

Got it for a decent price and installed it today - however the ac / climate control didn't work at all

So I made use of the dead mcintosh and took the ac control module / buttons out of that and mated it to the new kenwood headunit fascia. Took some time and had to change over some buttons and connections behind the fascia but it's now working perfectly

Attached my aux cable and it works well!!

So now my car has bits of alot of things in there from different cars!

Part of the reason I won't go e85 or 100 . I can't get e85 near home and I can't get 100 or e85 at my parents house

I believe this method is being validated ATM.....

Mick? Have a chat with him and see what he says?

Good Luck

Only works on the 06+ ECU as they have a 1024kb ROM which has enough empty space to fit the extra coding. Mick only has a 512kb ROM

Has the coding and testing been completed on this patch for the Lib ECU.

If so, I'm happy to trial it and provide feedback.. :D

Not yet, although you will be first to know :)

My wifes Forester has a VF56 in it at the moment exploring the limits of the stock block on E85. Should get it into the 300 club once I get home :)

It is a manual and a 2.5L haha, add the extra engine capacity plus auto drivetrain loss then you would have 300+ ;)

give me six months and both those would be check and check (shouldve gone ahead with my plan to convert to six speed three weeks ago - doh! )

Plus some metal work to assist with pumping that air in and out a little quicker :)
