Can you flash your ECU with that?

I had a chat with Craig and Justin today whilst I was at Revzone.

Other than that some of the guys in the WRX club track their 09 Rexs' and had a long chat with Barrie Crocker at the last club meet who has also built and had cars setup with the VF52.

Was really tempted to go E85 but there are no pumps around Phillip Island where I spend a bit of time on weekends.

Now for the waiting.

The car better make the power and show a few guys up aye, but I know from mine things can be a let down in a heart beat

I've never spoken with Craig cause I'm always there late lol

I'd say it won't be too long before e85 is available there considering the track and all

I wonder if there was some way of using the si drive to have duel maps, I'd like e85 but I've been told mine will make 300 atw without it so I don't think I'll need it yet lol and not sure if shepp has e85 or not and I go there from time to time

The SI drive part of the mapping only controls a small set of parameters. To run an entirely different fuel you must reflash to a different ROM

You know what would be cool. Being able to use the ECUDatascanner to flash your ROM. I can' t see why it couldn't be done. The unit runs on windows and you should be able to install ECUflash so with a bit of work on the interface you should be able to do you'd reckon.

I'm in the group buy for the ECUDatascanner. Might have a play with it and see if this is achieveable.

I'll be getting a high boost and less timing and a lower boost with more timing map on my next visit to the tuner so I'll see if I can use the datascanner to flash the ROM easily.

As I'm slowly coming to the end of this stage of the build on STI 30 I've updated the first post of this thread to outline all the parts I've used to date.

The car will be dropped off at Revzone tomorrow for the final installation of parts and a retune with the addition of a VF52 turbo.

Results will be up on Friday night.

Bet your excited! The worst part about the whole modding process is the waiting time

Any plans to run it down the quarter mile once tuned?

I don't think you'll get close to your power goal on that rubbish.

@ Coyote: is there a "better" alternative for a daily? E85? or?

The closest E85 servo is about 15 mins from home. Whilst I'm fully setup for E85 unless it gets a bit closer to home and availability is more widespread I'm not sure what I can do.

Also there is nothing near Phillip Island where I spend weekends.

I will be, unless something disasterous happens whilst at Revzone.
