WOW those Tomei's have dropped in price...... gotta love a billet actuator

I'm pretty sure you will need a custom upipe for this turbo.....Something Phat will work his magic on.

Sorry to hear your IAMs are at 0.315. That would explain a few things.

You know what I'm going to say, but I'll say it anyway. Go the VF52. It's all you need to make these cars fun.

With an auto the VF52 will introduce the least undesireable affects of a larger turbo.

Who really cares if a turbo will continue to boost at 6500RPM when most of the fun is to be had at between 3000 and 5000RPM.

I'll soon be posting up the results of the my next round of learnings and mods with the VF52 and I reckon you'll be pleasantly surprised.

If I don't sound like a VF52 fan boy already. Go the VF52.

Like I said I knew it was down, I just wasn't going to pay twice for a tune. It's not a retune with a new turbo, fmic etc. it's starting from scratch. As I've said before it's just unfortunate that it's dragged on for as long as it has, I thought I was going to be in this position in January not May! My car is rarely if at all driven hard because of this very reason, it was just good to see what the actual impact was rather than just knowing things weren't running as efficient as they should be :)

The thing for me is I'm not as concerned with overall driveability and fun, I am also interested in quarter mile times and overall numbers, the VF52 falls to the bottom of my list taking in the last two points.

Eventually I'm going to get my machine running E85 but I'm thinking in around a year's time :)

well in both models you can choose that opion....

but reckon go the 440xt... our manifolds have good low end torque anyway...so you'll hit low torque quickly... def under 3k

Haha yeh I know I meant which one you'd go for...we'll see what numbers the 380xt gets with the other members and might sway my decision :D

I've got the perfect turbo for you Rome - I forgot to show it to you the other night

T04Z t4 twin scroll inlet

And once again I was quite blown away with how nice and quiet your tbe 3" exhaust was- unbelievable that it's the same as my exhaust and yet probably half as loud

My advice is as we discussed - tune now with e85 and upgrade your turbo and frot mount later. This will kill two birds - fixes the performance bug now and ensures your motor is healthy.

You will need to upgrade your pump and injectors now though which is not as big a job as the rest of it

Cos either way once the bug bites you will be sick of your mods soon so when that happens you can go the next step later

Don't I need a single scroll? Who makes that turbo?

Yeh I love how quiet it is, yet loud enough to make me smile on WOT!

Can't go E85 yet it's not an option for me where it is available in the Shire, but after speaking to Scott I'm comfortable to drive around sedately for now. If it turns out I'll be waiting over 2 months for a tune then I might go ahead and get it tuned now!

I was geeing you up

To4z is the turbo off my gemi. It has a 1.04 rear housing and .70 front compressor with a 72 trim wheel

Doesnt come on boost until 3800rpm and that's on my stroked Isuzu motor which is a 2.9litre :)

As for your tune - makes sense if you can't get e85. But there is an outlet in heathcote

Wow Adam! you overtook me fast! I'd be keen to see what results you get with the blouch to compare with mine when it's all on Our turbos will have basically the same specs. What supporting mods are you doing with it?

That's pretty much the only one that works for me but twice I've been there it's been out of order, wouldn't want it to be when I needed to fill up!
